Amity University Kolkata offers a program in Journalism and Mass Communication, BJMC, across 3 years. The popularity of this program has been growing more and more, over the years. Attendance:

  • Students are required to have a minimum of 75% attendance in order to be eligible to appear for final examinations.
  • The class timings are slightly odd and therefore you will have to figure out a balance between them. Due to the odd timings, many students start losing interest in learning and start attending classes just for the sake of attendance.

Infrastructure:

  • It has an inbuilt soundproof studio for recording TV & Radio.
  • It also offers all the pieces of equipment needed for the course work. Make sure you make use of the provided resource.

Placements:

  • The institute promises 100% placements. However, the salary packages start from as low as INR 15,000. One of my classmates was placed in Delhi with a salary package of INR 25,000 but on a contract basis.
  • Most students are offered the role of associates or junior managers after completing their graduation.

You should make good use of the institute’s resources and infrastructure. Doing so will surely help you in getting good experiences and build your portfolio.

Hence, Amity University Kolkata offers a good degree program in BJMC with decent placement statistics.

NMIMS Mumbai reported its average package to be 16-17 lakhs. Are these figures inflated?

KD
Kirti Das Posted On : March 13th, 2023
BBA(Finance), NMIMS, Batch 2013-16

When calculating the average packages, a lot of math is involved.

If you believe that the average package of any college is what you take home, you will be surprised as it won't be close enough. The package offered to a graduate has a lot of components to it, such as basic salary, HRA, travel allowances, leave allowances, some other X, Y, and Z allowances, and ESOPs, and on top of these, you have some hefty signing in bonuses and variable pays. The pay structure varies from firm to firm.

The average pay suggests your maximum earning potential.

If you are interested in NMIMS Mumbai, you should know that it holds a great placement record, and students receive good salary packages during its placement drive every year. According to the final report of NMIMS Mumbai Placements 2022, the highest salary package, which stood at INR 57.65 LPA, increased by 66.04% (approximately) compared to the last year. Students received an average salary of INR 23.07 LPA, which is also 25.04% higher compared to the previous year.

You should know that there were 150+ recruiters from various sectors like BFSI, Consulting, IT, Pharmaceuticals, Media & Telecom, Consulting, etc. Some of the major recruiters included Aditya Birla Capital, EY, Capgemini, Cognizant, and ICICI Bank. Among these recruiters, 40+ recruiters were new recruiters, and 60+ recruiters were Fortune 500 recruiters.

How is Ohio State University for a MS in computer engineering in terms of the quality of courses and placements?

AS
Angie Smith Posted On : January 13th, 2021
Computer Engineering Grad, Ohio State University

It is seriously top-notch. It used to rank about USA's top 25 Engineering Schools and is presently at #30- which means it might have slipped a bit lower but is still counted among the big names. OSU offers an MS in computer engineering in two forms; research track which requires a thesis completion as well as 30 credit hours and a coursework track which requires 33 credit hours without the need of a thesis. Research is a big part of the master’s degree and with professors here conducting research in areas such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data etc. you are assured of a quality teaching. Also many times, the professors will also incorporate projects based on the theoretical implementations which is really beneficial for the students. Any college needs to be of excellent quality to maintain this position consistently.

As far as placements are concerned, it will depend on the overall job market during the time of your course completion. Also how much you have accomplished and the knowledge you gained during the course play a huge role during placements. Rest assured, this is a STEM program from a very prestigious state university, so you are assured of at least entry level jobs with decent to good grades. Some of the biggest recruiters who have visited the campus include Facebook, Microsoft, Google etc.

What is the average placement and package after completing a BTech in textile technology from NIT Jalandhar?

KA
Kajal Agrawal Posted On : December 17th, 2022
B.tech. in Production and Industrial Engineering

The textile branch at NIT Jalandhar is a moderate branch with a good placement that varies year to year, sometimes being rich and other times being less than average. There are fewer opportunities in core Textile design jobs in this branch, but some good students with good academic performance and good communication skills will definitely get placement in Analytics and other software development companies.

In 2021, the highest salary package available is 43 LPA. The course provides excellent placement opportunities. It requires students to complete internships at various companies. This college's placement statistics are quite appealing, as textile placements are at an all-time high after CSE and ECE.

BG
Banika Gaira Posted On : December 26th, 2022
PGDM in International Business (college major) & Marketing, K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR) (Graduated 2020)

Comparing the 2 B Schools that are KJ Somaiya and NIRMA, I would say both are equal in terms of placements, opportunities and exposure. The only factor you need to consider here is location. NIRMA is a good choice if your hometown is nearby. But if you want to enjoy your college life, explore and make memories, KJ Somaiya is the best. Located in Vidyavihar, a student-dominated area in Mumbai, it has an amazing campus with top-notch facilities.

Placements

The table below draws a clear comparison between both the B Schools.

Particulars

KJ Somaiya

NIRMA

No. of companies visited

201

Placement percentage

100%

Highest package

INR 26.50 LPA

INR 26 LPA

Average package

INR 10.98 LPA

INR 10.50 LPA

So from the table, we can infer that placement-wise both colleges are almost the same. The difference lies in their location and the type of college life they offer.

The MDI Gurgaon FPM program is structured in such a way that its students are given access to the corporate world owing to their constant commitment to research.

FPM students assist their guide and professors with their consulting assignments allowing them access to many corporations. You might be surprised to know that many firms come to MDI Gurgaon to seek help and consultation from MDI research students. This is done in the form of research assignments and live projects. This becomes possible because their curriculum and research methodologies are designed in such a way. Does IIIT Lucknow get good placement because of IIIT Allahabad?

AR
Abhishek Rao Posted On : June 1st, 2021
B.Tech from Indian Institute Of Information Technology, Sonepat (IIIT Sonepat) (2020)

This is true that the only reason IIIT Lucknow has great placements is simply because of IIIT Allahabad. It can be explained with the help of the following points:

  1. The students of IIIT Lucknow share the same classrooms where they are taught by the same professors that impart the same skills to students of both institutes.
  2. The competition at IIIT Allahabad is intense and it includes one of the most brilliant brains in the whole of India.
  3. The companies that visit IIIT Allahabad are the same companies that visit IIIT Lucknow as well to select students as their future employees.

If you are concerned about the fact that it would affect IIIT Lucknow once they shift, the straight answer to this is YES! With this, it is going to get difficult to expect companies to show up.

Are there joint placements for UIET Chandigarh and UIET Hoshiarpur?

KS
Kaustav Sen Posted On : July 9th, 2021
Computer science engineer from UIET, Hoshiarpur (2021)

Some of my friends attended UIET Chandigarh and UIET Hoshirpur, so I have some information regarding the placement at these institutes.

As both the colleges UIET Chandigarh and UIET Hoshiarpur are part of Punjab university, the students visit the Punjab University for placements. Companies do visits there. Sometimes students of UIET Hoshiarpur have to visit UIET Chandigarh for placements. The students of both colleges are given different slots.

But both the colleges have their own placement cells. The placement depends on these placement cells. The companies like Infosys and Sufi visit both colleges. In such cases, the placements take place on the same date and at the same time.

Hope this clears your doubts.
