Yes! In Mumbai, there are a lot of companies that offer jobs, but there is no promise that you will get one. So instead of worrying about the place, you could look for a profile you like and then look for a switch. If distance is your main problem, it could be a little hard. But nothing is ever out of reach.
Although ECE students are allowed to sit in the placement drives of most computer science companies, very few among them end up getting a job offer from those companies in Nirma University. The points below give proper reasons supporting the cause, as evident from most reviews related to the same.
These two factors play the role of a barrier for the ECE students to not end up in good computer science jobs and so, very few students from the department are placed in those companies.
One of my friends recently graduated from Amity University Gurugram. According to him it is a really good place to pursue your studies as they offer several opportunities after graduation.
During the year 2021 they saw a huge influx of Corporate leaders from Fortune 500 organizations who guided the students on the path of a successful career. The offers came from various sectors and companies.
The graduating students were given a number of choices, some even before their completion. Amity gives students the first push for a professional career.

Their annual campus placement season began in the month of September every year. This year due to the pandemic the placement program was in virtual mode and students also got to showcase their skills to the recruiters. The placement program was extended due to the pandemic.
Placement should not be the sole yardstick for judging an institute. You should consider other crucial factors like curriculum, faculty, department, research culture, infrastructure, etc.
However, if we talk about placement, at MIT, you will receive a handful of opportunities at core companies for technical job roles, many IT companies for both service-based and product-based, and a few other companies for managerial posts.
For placements, you will be competing with the entire batch as well as the students of CEG and ACT campuses. So, prepare accordingly. According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC received by the students is 4 LPA.
Apart from the placements, the faculty base for the Mechanical Department is average at best. Also, as the department is quite new, lab facilities are limited and depend a lot on CEG.
Kashmir University does not offer any kind of placement opportunities. Although they do help toppers secure internship opportunities with banks. The average salary of students who completed an MBA from Kashmir University is around 1 LPA. After one year of internship in banks, you will earn around 15-24 thousand per month.
It’s better not to do an MBA from Kashmir University if you want good placement opportunities upon completing your degree.
I have a few friends at CUSAT, so I think I can give you an idea about the placement opportunities available for their Fire and Safety department.
Fire and Safety Engineering can be quite challenging. If you are serious about your studies and put in the required effort you will definitely have enough opportunities at the time of placements. But if you are not that serious about academics and end up having backlogs the faculty will not help you during placements.
If you are sincere you can get packages similar to the ones offered at reputed IITs and NITs. Here is a brief highlight of the recent placement statistics for the branch.
Also, it is worth mentioning that CUSAT is NBA Tier - 1 accredited. Other than CUSAT, only IITs and NITs have NBA accreditation. So, CUSAT is definitely a worthy choice for a B.Tech in Fire and Safety Engineering.
I am aware of the placement scenario at IIM Udaipur only as my sister recently graduated from it.
Operations
The faculty base of this domain specifically is very experienced and includes world class professors like Director Prof. Janat Shah.
Apart from faculty, the club SKEIN conducts national level summits (SCM Summit) by inviting industry experts to enlighten the students.
Consulting
The consulting club ConsultU takes charge of providing live projects throughout the year for students.

If you are a Civil student, my advice to you would be to prepare for the GATE exam once you are done with your degree. The placement is quite low for core companies. Many students also follow the same.
Chemical students are known to focus on jobs and have a good placement in analytics and software-based companies. Many of the top ones also land core jobs.
My suggestion would be to check the syllabus and pick the subject you like. You will realize which subject has good scope and what does not. As far as Civil is concerned, most students land jobs at L&T. But, they will make you work a lot and you will not be satisfied with the pay. This is not the case with Chemical engineering.
