This rule has been in motion since 2016 and applies to students of both the OBC category and General. The rule did not apply to students who were from 2014 and 2015.

The fee structure for NIT Raipur and any other IIT according to MHRD are as follows:

  • In case your family income is less than 1,00,000, you will get full remission of tuition fees. IIT tuition fees are around 2 lakhs now and the same for NITs is around 1.25 lakhs.
  • If your family income is between 1 lakh to 5 lakhs, then you will have to pay a third of the fee of the IITs and NITs.
  • Full tuition fees have to be paid in case the salary of the family is more than 5 lakhs.
  • NITs have their own mess fees, hostel, and extra fees. They will amount roughly to 65,000 to 75,000 rupees.

Bank loans also help in gaining admission to the aforementioned colleges.

At IT Roorkee, students whose family income is less than 5 lakhs per annum are eligible for fee waivers and concessions. A few points related to the fees submission procedure for students whose family income is less than 5 lakhs are:

  • Irrespective of your family income, everyone has to pay the fees for the first semester. This includes Tuition Fees, Hostel Rent, and Other charges.
  • From the next semester, complete fees are waived for SC, ST & PD students. However, students still have to pay other charges and Hostel Rent.
  • Any excess amount paid by the students at the time to seat allotment shall be refunded.
  • Complete fee payment including Institute fee and Mess fee to be made if payment is done online.

Payment for the Institute fee can also be made offline by Bank Demand Draft in favor of ‘Registrar, IIT Roorkee’ and Mess fee in the name of ‘Chairman, CCB IIT Roorkee’. Bank Demand Draft should be payable at Roorkee only.

Fee waive-off policy

  • Total tuition fees are waived for SC / ST / PD students and for those whose family income is less than 1 Lakh.

Why does PUMBA have less fees?

GS
Gaurav Sharma Posted On : April 18th, 2023
studied at Xavier School of Management

Due to its government institute status and government support, PUMBA has lower tuition than other B-schools. This lowers tuition fee, making it an affordable MBA program.

PUMBA students can pay fees in installments and get a strong return on investment (ROI). The laid-back atmosphere lets students pursue interests and extracurriculars. The typical crowd and learning experience are negatives. PUMBA is better for freshers than experienced professionals and lacks a Training and Placement Office (TPO), which may impair placement quality.

How long did it take you to recover the fees paid for PGPM of MDI Gurgaon?

SM
Suparkash M Posted On : February 23rd, 2023
PGPM from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (2017)

I asked a friend about the time it took him to pay back the loan he had taken to pursue PGDM at MDI Gurgaon. An estimate revealed 5-7 years. However this is subject to change as not everyone receives the same package.

Currently, MDI Gurgaon PGDM fees is ?23.47 Lakhs. On comparing this with the average package INR 26.65 LPA, we can say that the fees can be easily paid within 5 years time considering the interest and additional expenses.

But tell me is getting an equivalent package the only way to recover the fees. Is it not recovered through the knowledge you have gained, the various experiences and the gateway to success. One can never repay back the fees in reality.
