What is the donation fee required in order to get direct admission to Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata for the ECE branch?

MA
Meera Agarwal Posted On : September 2nd, 2021
Bachelor of Technology Information Technology, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata (2016)

Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata is a very popular and reputed engineering institute of our country. One of my friends studied here. According to him, you can get admission through the management quota by giving some donations.

  • Generally, 10% of the total seats are reserved through the management quota.
  • If you have any connections with the college authorities or the admission council, then you can get admission through the general quota by giving some money.
  • For the IT branch, it went up to 12 lakhs, but if you are having good marks in class 10th and 12th, then you can bring it down to 9-10 lakhs.
  • For the ECE branch, it went up to 16 lakhs and for the CSE branch, it was around 10-16 lakhs depending upon the student’s qualifications.
  • The placement opportunities later available are amazing.
  • Top companies such as Wipro, TCS, Infosys visit the campus to recruit students.

Hence, if you are not able to make it to the merit list then you can get admission to Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata through donation. But do note that the amount is too high.

A student from my college has been selected in IIM Jammu for an MBA program. He can't afford the fee. What are his options?

H

There are various options available for students who get selected in top Indian institutions like IITs and IIMs. IIMs offer scholarships, cash prizes during competitions, and other financial benefits to the students. I can tell you about the student loan that I secured from the bank to complete my education at IIM Indore.

Banks willingly provide education loans at low-interest rates to meritorious students of IIMs because of the credibility of IIMs and the good earning prospect of the students. There are a few requirements for securing the loan-

  1. The student must produce their original passport before the bank to prove their Indian citizenship. This is because banks, and particularly public sector banks do not fund the education of foreign students.
  2.  The banks also check the Cibil score of all loan applicants. This needs to be a minimum of 700 if not 750 or more.
  3. Other than the applicant, there must be a co-applicant. The co-applicant must be in service or must run a business. They must earn a minimum specified amount acceptable to the bank.

For other options like scholarships and financial assistance, the student should consider contacting the IIM Jammu office and explaining his situation. Even philanthropic institutions can be of help to him.

Is it justified for IIM Calcutta to increase fees from 22 lakhs to 27 lakhs for its one year MBA course when average placement salaries are less than 30 lakhs?

AB
Amartya Baidya Posted On : December 12th, 2022
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Raipur (Graduated 2019)

In today’s age, providing education has become more and more expensive. But it does not end there. Providing a good educational environment and experience has also become more and more challenging. IIM Calcutta’s decision to increase its fees is somewhat justified.

Some points that support my opinion are

  • After the experience of an MBA from IIM Calcutta your salary almost doubles.

  • You can change the line of your profession and get the role you had dreamt of.

  • The average salary after such a program would actually be lesser- say 25 Lakhs CTC.

  • Since it is a 1-year program, you get to work in the second year.

Investing in an MBA course at IIM Calcutta is surely a worthwhile investment. You won’t regret this decision and its value will stay with you forever.

My friend is joining college with a fee waiver seat. How much fee he has to pay in aktu college?

NT
Neeraj Tiwary Posted On : November 10th, 2022
Studied Computer Science (Graduated 2017)

The purpose of FW or Fee-Waiver seats is to let financially weak people pursue their dreams. AKTU has 4-5 seats for the same in every branch of engineering colleges.

The average fee of an AKTU-affiliated engineering college is around INR 1,35,000. This includes Exam fees, Training & Placement, Degree, Student Development services, etc. But for a student opting for a Fee-Waiver seat, the complete amount of INR 90,000 (as tuition fees) will be waived. This amount will be paid by the government.

The remaining fee that needs to be paid by an FW student is around 20-30k per year. Your college will let you know the exact amount as it varies from college to college.

What are the fees for distance learning ICFAI for an MBA?

DS
Dristi Sengupta Posted On : June 22nd, 2021
CSE, IIT Bhubaneswar (2018)

At ICFAI, there are two options for fee payment.

  • You can make a module-based payment in which each module costs INR 25000.
  • The next option is of complete course fee payment which is INR 65000.

Fees can be paid in demand draft or by credit or debit card. The demand draft needs to be drawn in favor of “The ICFAI University, Tripura-Fee Collection A/c (FLP)” and it should be payable at Agartala.

You can apply online by filling the application on their website. You need to pay Rs 600 for the application form online and upload the necessary documents. While filling the form offline you need to draw a DD in favor of “IFHE-Fee collection account executive MBA” (for executive MBA) and payable at Hyderabad.

If your application is not accepted then you will be refunded INR 500. Once the application is accepted by the college you can start your desired program.

Is the cost of acting schools like NSD expensive?

NG
Niharika Gupta, Posted On : November 23rd, 2021
Studied at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) (2016)

Considering the top three acting schools of India let me share the cost of studying at each:

National School of Drama, Delhi:

  • It is the least expensive and you will get a chance to earn while studying.
  • You get a monthly stipend of INR 8000.
  • The fees for tuition, hostel and books are negligible.
  • This is the perfect institute for budding theatre actors.
  • This is heavily funded by the government as well.

The Indian School of Acting, Delhi-NCR:

  • It is a relatively new acting school which is growing really fast.
  • It is the best private acting school which has reasonable fees.
  • The fee is INR 45,000 for 6 months and INR 80,000 for 1 year.

FTII, Pune:

  • It is one of the best government acting schools of India.
  • The fees is nearly 2.5 lakhs for a 2 years course.
  • This is a bit expensive but quite popular.

There are many other acting schools in India which offer quality education like Whistling Woods International, SRFTI and many more. You can learn about them online, and then make your decision.
