Well, it depends upon several factors. A few of them are as mentioned below.
There are other factors, or possible scenarios, such as,
The above scenarios can give you possible average outcomes, but there can be vague contradictions as well. You also need to consider which subject interests you.
According to various student reviews, the preference order for CSE and Mechanical is MNNIT > NITJ. You should always give preference to the branch rather than the institute. Hope this clarifies most of your doubts.
For placements, IIIT Lucknow will be bast. But if you are interested in Mechanical then MNNIT Allahabad will be a better option. Although you should keep in mind that from the future perspective Mechanical will be a risky choice. Jobs are very less in the core sector and the package will be less. The competition is also quite high in both the public and private sectors.
Here are the recent placement statistics of the institutes.
Parameters | IIIT Lucknow | MNNIT Allahabad |
Average CTC | 18 LPA | 10 LPA |
Highest CTC | 43 LPA | 49 LPA |
But in the case of the CSE branch, you will surely get a job with a decent package. You can also change jobs between different companies as there are many opportunities available as IT is a booming sector at present.

IET is ranked #1 among all the ATKU 600+ engineering colleges, whereasMNNIT Allahabad was ranked #48th by NIRF for B.Tech courses. The placement rate of CSE branch is higher as compared to other subjects in IET. Generally the recruiting companies for CSE and ECE branches are almost similar. The only difference lies in the institution, teaching staff and the candidate’s performance. Both the institutions have qualified faculties. Both of them are approved by AICTE.

Some of the on-campus facilities of IET Lucknow are library, gym, hostel and bank. Some of the on-campus facilities in MNNIT Allahabad are a stationery shop, generator, student club, hostel (geyser, air cooler, refrigerator, water cooler, washing machine), PCO, 24/7 canteen, etc. Getting into IET Lucknow is difficult, as their cut-offs are really high. But the companies recruiting are not so good. Choosing ECE over CSE will give you the advantage of sitting in placements of both the courses. The rest all lies in the hands of the candidate and their interest. They can compare all the information available and then decide which is better for them.
If you are an OBC aspirant and want to fetch a seat in CSE MNNIT Allahabad, you need to score above 205 marks in your JEE Mains. If you score anywhere near 170 marks or above, there is a possibility that you will get a seat in the spot round of the counseling.

Delhi Technological University (DTU) and MNNIT Allahabad have numerous opportunities for the students opting to do civil engineering. DTU has an upstanding ranking record as it was ranked at #2 in Best Technological Universities in India by Times Engineering Survey and #34 by NIRF. MNNIT on the other hand was ranked at #14 in the Top Public colleges in India 2020 by India today and #19 for B.Tech in India 2019 by The Week.

When it comes to placement and scholarship opportunities, DTU does have a certain edge and MNNIT has an edge in terms of lower course fees. But eventually, all the factors relevant in an individual case need to be analyzed before selecting in between these two universities.
ISI, at the undergraduate level, teaches statistics and mathematics and IISER is in charge of General Sciences and MNNIT Allahabad offers engineering programs. Think thoroughly about what you want to pursue because the paradigms are different and the impact on the industry is also different.
If you go for civil engineering at MNNIT Allahabad you will find that the subjects are similar in the first year. You can top your class if you study hard. Only the top 2-3 students get the opportunity for changing their discipline after completing the first year. Changing your discipline will enhance your eligibility to the other institutes you have mentioned in your postgraduate.
ISI gives you five options at the postgraduate level:
IISc offers a number of specializations in engineering and general sciences. The eligibility, however, was restricted to undergraduates and the disciplines related to them. For shifting disciplines, you will have to appear for the GATE exams for the discipline you are converting to.
My friend appeared for his GATE exam in CSE to pursue the same in M.Tech. ISI is unique in this case because there are no restrictions here.
If I was in your place and had to choose between the aforementioned institutes, I would set my preference order as follows
NSIT IT >= DTU IT > DTU SE > MNNIT CSE
The reason I have placed NSIT and DTU in the first place is because of their location in the capital city. This opens multiple doors of opportunities and exposure that might not be available in other colleges. Also, the quality of students these colleges attract is top notch and you will end up befriending some of the most genius minds.
However, if you are passionate about programming and CS, then choose IIIT Delhi because its curriculum and overall ambiance are CS oriented. The research culture and facilities here are unmatched and students conduct high-end research under the guidance of some great faculty.
Your last option should be MNNIT mainly because of its poor location.
Hope this helped you make a wise decision!
In the year 2020, the ranking of IIST was #33 by NIRF for B.Tech courses. On the other hand, MNNIT Allahabad was ranked #48th by NIRF for B.Tech courses. With excellent teaching staff, IIST is the 1st space institute in Asia to offer programs in space science and technology.

Choosing the subject depends on the individual itself. IISR will be really good if the candidate is very much interested in space and technology, as the institute primarily focuses only on space studies. Being a part of the 1st institute in the world to offer complete range of programs in space and technology will be plus point. Late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was the former Chancellor of the University. The city life of Kerala is much better than Allahabad. Now, based on all the data and their interest the candidate can choose the subject and institute accordingly.
When choosing between several institutes, there are various things that you need to factor in before arriving at any possible conclusion. The first thing you need to decide is what matters to you most: branch or institute. If you have a specific branch in mind, you can definitely choose either of these two institutes. You can rest assured about placement as both of these two offer good placement to the students.
Whereas, if you are more inclined towards choosing a better institute, irrespective of the branch, you can choose MNNIT.
However, according to various reviews, the most preferred order for these choices among students are as follows.
Further, CSE and IT offer almost the same opportunities, and points 2 and 3 are interchangeable at times.
