SR
Snigdha Roy Posted On : May 30th, 2021
MBA IT and Systems & Marketing, BIMM (2018)

You should to the senior regarding placements. It is the only way you will get trustworthy data. Don't buy what the founder of BIMM tells you.

  • The reality is that the placement scenario in all four colleges is different from each other. Placements only happen at BIMM, nowhere else.
  • In case you opt for system specialization, at maximum, you would witness a total number of 6 companies visit the campus for placements. And if you want an internship under system specialization, be ready to hear the institute asking you to find one for yourself.
  • Considering other specializations like Operation, HR, Marketing- you would get yourself an internship which would offer you a CTC of 4 lakhs. For system specializations, no companies come for internships.

Some facts to remember-

  • Four colleges fall under Sri Balaji Society (SBS)- BIMM, BIMHRD, BIIB, BITM.
  • The faculty is great.
  • Companies only prefer to visit BIMM for placements, no other branch.
  • Maximum 10 companies visit the campus to offer a package that goes beyond Rs. 8 lakhs and chooses 2 students out of the lot. Considering that, a maximum of 50 students are selected from such companies.
  • Give SBS institutes a shot if you feel you would never make it to institutes like XIMB, GIM, XIME, LIBA.

My friend, who works with the placement coordinator team has confirmed the fact that you would get a package that offers a maximum package of Rs. 4 lakhs if you haven't been a part of BIMM or the placement coordination team.

You should think twice and decide.

What’s the CPI required to change from biotechnology to other branches in MNNIT Allahabad?

PR
Priya Raghav Posted On : April 30th, 2021
MNNIT Allahabad

It seems like you are a fresher to the college and desperately wants to change your branch Biotechnology, which is the most underrated branch of the college, compared to some other branch.

To be precise, a CPI of 8 is considered safe. Try to keep it above 8. But, if luck is on your side, even a CPI of 7.6-7.7 will help you out.

I would like to mention a few points that you should consider before switching your branch and perhaps, these are the reasons that make Biotechnology at MNNIT Allahabad amazing.

  • Faculty: The faculty members are very good. They are comparatively young and therefore understand more of students’ problem. They are friendly and approachable, which is unique to the Biotechnology department.
  • Class Strength: There are around 35 to 40 students in the class. Because of the lesser number of students in the class, all share a good bond within themselves as well as with teachers. This is significant at good and bad times.
  • Research: The department is very active in the case of research. The department has received funding from various government agencies such as DBT, DST, UGC, MNRE, etc., and has published research papers in national and international journals of repute. Externally funded research grants of approximately above 1.5 crores were also generated by the department within a short span of time.
  • The infrastructure is good and growing rapidly.
  • Ample placement opportunities. Students are either placed in good companies or they opt for higher studies.
  • Students from the department also succeed in exams such as GATE, GRE, CSIR-UGC (NET).

The faculty also frequently visits other research laboratories and research institutions in the country and abroad. Additionally, national as well as international conferences were held which were government agencies supported.

Why is IIT BHU so underrated?

SK
Siddhant Kushal Posted On : August 13th, 2020
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (2022)

IIT BHU is underrated primarily because of its infrastructure. There’s a lot of issues with this since it is a 100-year-old construction and since then, there have only been renovations all around the campus. Also, it has become an IIT only in the year of 2012 and started receiving hefty funds only since then. Over the years IIT BHU improved its infrastructure but it will take few more years to reach the same level as other IITs. After getting the status of an IIT, the institute is looking after the students’ facilities and spending a lot on the extra-curricular activities. It is surely underrated as of today because of the infrastructure, but hopefully, that will change in the coming years.
