Can I pursue ph.d after complete my IPM course from IIM Indore?

AS
Ashish Singla Posted On : August 27th, 2021
Studied at IIM Indore (2019)

The IPM course in IIM Indore used to be a diploma course and earlier it was not possible to do a Ph.D. after graduating. But now because the five-year integrated IPM program is a degree course, you can easily enroll for Ph.D.

To the best of my knowledge, if you are a commerce student you are not eligible for the IPM entrance exam that is IPMAT. Commerce students with maths as a subject are still eligible for the paper. The IIM authority has clearly stated that maths has to be a compulsory subject in class 12th to be eligible for IPMAT. It is a primary criterion. You can also be eligible if maths is an optional subject instead of PE or CSC.

Yes, in fact Bachelors is necessary for any Masters course. So in order to get admission in MSc Financial Mathematics, you will have to complete Bachelors in Financial Mathematics first.

Now coming to your question, Honors in Margs is necessary for admission in MSc Financial Mathematics, I don't think so because I have many friends who are pursuing MSc in Financial Mathematics despites graduating from universities that don’t even offer Honors in Maths. I think all you need is a graduation in Maths.

For detailed information look up on the official website of MSU or contact an alumni.

I have taken a year drop after the 12th. Am I eligible to apply for the PGDBA program offered by IIM Calcutta?

AJ
Arshit Jain Posted On : December 26th, 2022
PGDBA in Business Analytics & Data Science, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta

That is perfectly acceptable. This should not be an issue. You are eligible to apply for IIM Calcutta's PGDBA program even if you have taken a year drop after the 12th. The only thing you should be prepared for is a valid reason for taking a year's leave.

Your response must be convincing, and you must not appear to have wasted your gap year. Whatever the reason, you must be prepared to provide a confident response. You can be comfortable knowing that it will have no effect on your selection process.

What are the chances of getting into IIM Indore IPM Course with Sat-1630?

RB
Risha Bose Posted On : August 28th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore (2019)

According to my friends studying at IIM Indore, they use a process that consists of two stages to grant admission to suitable applicants to its Five-Year Integrated IPM Program.

The IPM course has a total enrollment of 121 students every year. 57 of them are from the general category, 33 from the OBC category, 18 from the SC category, 9 from the ST category and 4 from the PWD category.

The two-stage process includes:

  • Screening of applications and calculation of composite scores based on stream, Secondary and Higher secondary scores, and SAT-1 scores.
  • The applicants are then shortlisted for Aptitude Test and personal interview rounds as per the prepared merit list.
  • The aptitude test and personal interview round are conducted of the shortlisted candidates.
  • The aptitude test would consist of written and verbal ability questions, along with a few questions relating to the general awareness, and analytical skills of the candidates.
  • The level is the same as that of the secondary level (10+2) education system of India.

The final compost score is calculated as: Final Composite Score (FCS) = Aptitude Test (40%)+Personal Interview (60%).

After all the rounds are completed, a merit list is prepared to offer admission to eligible candidates based on the final composite score.

I got 76 percent in 10th boards, currently in 11th commerce, can I get into IIM's (Bangalore especially)?

BG

Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

A solid academic record, success on the entrance tests, and other selection criteria are required for admission to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore. Although the minimal academic standards for IIMs change every year, a strong academic record is often regarded as crucial for admission to these prestigious B-schools.

Since you are presently in the eleventh grade, you still have time to raise your academic standing and develop a solid reputation after 76% in 10th. In addition to doing well on your 11th and 12th grade examinations, you should strive to do well on entrance tests like the CAT, which is the most popular entrance exam for admission to IIMs. To demonstrate your abilities and interests, you can engage in extracurricular activities, apply for internships, or engage in volunteer work.

Having said that, a strong academic record alone does not guarantee admission to IIMs. IIMs also take into account a candidate's complete biography, which includes employment history, extracurricular activities, leadership qualities, and other pertinent accomplishments.

So, while having a strong academic record is crucial, admittance to IIMs is not only based on it. To increase your chances of being accepted into IIM Bangalore or other prestigious B-schools, concentrate on developing a good profile, enhancing your academic achievement, and preparing well for the admission examinations.

I have pcb in 12th standard and got 72% , I don't have mathematics, i want to do bca in psit kanpur , can I pursue

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : August 21st, 2023

No, it’s not possible to get admission to the BCA program at PSIT Kanpur if you haven’t taken Maths as a compulsory subject in Class 12. Admissions for both BCA and BA programs are done through CSJM entrance scores, purely on the basis of merit.

The basic eligibility criteria for admission is

  • A minimum of 60% aggregate score in the 10th and 12th examinations.
  • Candidates must have appeared for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects during their 12th examination.

Admissions to the BCA program at PSIT Kanpur are done through counseling depending upon the marks obtained by the candidates in Aptitude Test.
