What should be a safe GMAT score for me to get selected for ISB Hyderabad?

JT
Jayant Thakur Posted On : March 1st, 2023
ISB YLP '15 Admit

Based on your profile, it seems that you have accomplished a lot and your profile is unique compared to others. Therefore, it is suggested that a score above 700 on the GMAT would be a safe score. To be extra cautious, a score of 720 or higher would be ideal.

You don't need to add anything to your profile, but rather subtract any unnecessary information.

The Admissions Committee is primarily interested in understanding three key aspects of you on a deeper level:

  • YOU

They want to understand who you are as a person. What motivates you? What are your passions? How do you stand out from others?

  • YOUR GOAL
What are your professional aspirations? Where do you want to go in your career? Why is achieving this goal important to you?

  • WHY ISB
How can ISB help you achieve your goals? Why do you believe that ISB is the best fit for you?

By answering these questions, your profile will take shape and you will gain a better understanding of what to include and what to leave out.

What is the admission procedure for IIM Ahmedabad? I read that around 80 percentile is required, but what are the additional criteria?

SM
Sonal Mishra Posted On : April 15th, 2023
studied at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad

The admission procedure for IIM Ahmedabad is a multi-step process that includes several components. While a high percentile score in the CAT is essential, there are other criteria that are taken into consideration as well. Here is a breakdown of the admission procedure:

  • The first step is to appear for CAT, which is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. A minimum percentile score is required to be eligible for further selection rounds.
  • Once the CAT results are announced, candidates need to apply online to IIM Ahmedabad. The application process includes submitting academic records, work experience, and other personal details.
  • Based on the CAT scores and the application, candidates are shortlisted for the WAT and PI rounds. The shortlisted candidates are informed via email.
  • The WAT and PI rounds are conducted at various locations across India. During the PI, candidates are evaluated on their communication skills, personality, and knowledge.
  • Based on the CAT score, performance in the WAT and PI rounds, and other criteria such as academic records and work experience, the final selection is made.

The additional criteria that are taken into consideration during the selection process are:

  • Academic Performance: The academic records of the candidate are taken into consideration, including marks obtained in 10th, 12th, and graduation.
  • Work Experience: Work experience is given weightage during the selection process. Candidates with work experience are evaluated on their job profile, responsibilities, and achievements.
  • Diversity: IIM Ahmedabad encourages diversity in its student body. Candidates from different academic backgrounds, work experience, and gender are given preference.

It is important to note that the percentile requirement may vary from year to year, depending on the competition and the number of applicants. It is advisable to keep a target score of at least 80 percentile or above to have a good chance of being shortlisted for further rounds.

Does BIMTECH accept a MAT score?

SG
Suresh Garg Posted On : February 5th, 2021
PGDM IB, BIMTECH (2019)

Yes, BIMTECH accepts MAT scores for admission but it is only for two of the courses they offer. Which are as follows.

  • PGDM in Insurance Business Management (PGDM IBM)
  • PGDM in Retail Management (PGDM RM)

If you are opting for any of these two branches and have a good score in MAT you do not need to worry about admission. Other than the MAT score the institute also conducts Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) for final selection. Prepare well for these rounds too. Stay updated with the current affairs. Questions can be asked in the personal interview from these areas.

Go for the above-mentioned programs only if you want to pursue a career in Retail or Insurance. These are niche fields of study, so choose these fields only if you are sure about the specialization. If you are not sure and have a better option, it will be wise to go for other options. So, weigh-in all the factors before making a decision.

Did NIOS students get admission in Kongu Engineering College Erode? How much percentage do I need? I studied PCM.

YR
Yashwant Rajendra Posted On : September 8th, 2021
Studied at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) (2020)

The eligibility criteria are different in all the private colleges according to their rules and norms.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) doesn't cater to the open education system and it seems that it doesn't have value but that's not true.

Although, in general terms, to get admission to Kongu Engineering College, Erode, you should have at least 50% aggregate in your 12th standard with the subject as physics, chemistry, and maths as the main subjects. At least 45% marks if you fall under the reserved categories (ST, SC, OBC, etc.).
