Does age (30 and above) matter for MBA from ISB Hyderabad and latter on the placements?

SZ
Saher Zehra Posted On : March 1st, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad, Telangana, India (2016–present)

If you are above the age of 30 and applying for a job or a graduate program, it is expected that you have a certain level of experience. To be successful in the interview process, it is important to demonstrate maturity and communicate effectively, highlighting the unique value that your experience brings to the table. Recruiters often look for candidates with experience and may be more likely to overlook younger applicants with less experience.

In the case of ISB, many companies that recruit on campus are looking for candidates with 5+ years of work experience. Therefore, if you are a 24-year-old with 2 years of work experience, you may face more competition for certain positions. It is important to research the types of companies and positions that you are interested in and to consider whether your experience aligns with the needs of those companies. This is known as "school research" and it is important to do it before applying.

In summary, when applying for a job or graduate program, it is important to have a clear understanding of the expectations of recruiters and the types of positions you are interested in. By doing research and understanding the needs of the companies and positions you are applying for, you can tailor your application and interview to align with those needs and increase your chances of success. Think logically and don't have expectations without a clear trail of thoughts.

The required GPA for IIIT Nuzvid stays around 9.7+. The GPA requirement for SC/ST category students is around 9.5. So, the possibility of getting admission to the institute with a 7.8 GPA is slim. Students from the physically challenged category might have a chance of getting admission with a 7.8 GPA.

Am I eligible for applying to MA Economics in DSE if I have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science Engineering?

AB
Anshul Bhardwaj Posted On : February 13th, 2023
Lived in New Delhi -110027 (2001–2016)

Anyone who has completed his/her graduation in any stream can get admission to DSE for MA in Economics. The only eligibility criteria are at least 60% marks in the aggregate ( in the graduation program)

Earlier there was an additional requirement that the aspirant must have studied at least one Maths paper during their graduation. But the recent criteria do not even require that. However, DSE focuses a lot on Math, and having an Engineering background will definitely give you an edge over other candidates.

Recently DSE has witnessed many non-economic students willing to shift their careers in economics and want to pursue Master's in Economics. This shift among students stems from the increasing demand for economists globally in different domains of jobs like Analyst, Economist, Researcher, Data Scientist, etc.

As an MA in Economics aspirant, one thing to keep in mind is that although the entrance exam is easy, the program is quite rigorous and can be extremely stressful at times. So only a true Economics fan should go for it.

Does ISB Hyderabad need work experience apart from the GMAT score?

BJ
Bejoy John Posted On : January 30th, 2023
M.B.A. Strategy & Operations Management, Indian School of Business (2018)

Yes, ISB Hyderabad’s PGP program requires a minimum of 2 years of full-time paid work experience. This criteria came into force on 31st March 2016 and is still a necessity.

For candidates who lack in this aspect, there is a back door entry called the Early Entry Option or the EEOs. Under this, you can apply right away, go through the selection process, and receive the admission offer but join only after working for 2 years. This can also be referred to as Deferred admission.

Can I get into KMC Manipal if I score in between 200-300 in the NEET and pay the required amount they ask for?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 28th, 2023

A score of 200 to 300 will get you into KMC Manipal only if you enter KMC through NRI quota. Non-NRI management seats cannot be secured with such marks. You need at least 550+ for those seats. Moreover, NRI seats are very expensive so look up the fee structure once.

If you are not an NRI, just show some NRI background by making one NRI relative your sponsor. However, I will advise you to score higher if you want to get admission using the management seats.

Can I start my graduation at IGNOU on my 2nd year if I completed my 1st year at another college? Can I do both BSc and another stream degree at IGNOU?

RM
Ram Ratan Mishra Posted On : November 3rd, 2022
BA economics from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

You certainly can. Credit transfer is available through IGNOU.

Credit transfer refers to allowing a student from another university to enroll in IGNOU to complete an equivalent degree based on credit transfer from that university. As a result, the student did not appear in the exam for that course, which was found to be equivalent to and for which appropriate credit was deemed to have been obtained for the purpose of fulfilling the IGNOU requirements for awarding a degree.

Of course, there are some ground rules. You can find it in the IGNOU prospectus or program guide. You can do both at the same time, one with a regular duration and the other with a certificate program. It would, however, be too difficult for you.

Can I get in to MDI Gurgaon for pursuing my MBA with low academics? My 10th score is 70.4% and my 12th score is 66.6%.

MMS from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies

One can easily compensate for poor past academics by scoring extraordinarily well in CAT. Anything below 99 is not acceptable if your past academics are already below average. Moreover, MDI does not give much importance to past academics while shortlisting candidates. They give maximum preference to CAT scores. From what I heard, the interviews are very informal and friendly. Not many formal questions are asked so one can be their true self inside and portray their talents.

However, you should be able to justify your low scores in the later stage.

So focus solely on your CAT preparation with MDI as your target.
