IIT Guwahati's Legends and Leopards

Remarks :

I was a PCMB student in class 12 and qualified JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exams. Info regarding JEE Mains is available on NTA's official website nta.ac.in whereas, for JEE Advanced, the conducting IIT maintains the website for registration and subsequent process. I would suggest you read the brochures for the respective exams available on their website before filling the forms.

Course Curriculum Overview :

In one semester, there is a mid-semester exam, an end-semester exam, and 2 quizzes per subject. The course load is heavy due to the possibility of branch change at the end of the year. The faculty are quite friendly and helpful. They are highly qualified PhD holders. the faculty-to-student ratio is 1:15.

Internships Opportunities :

Generally, internship starts in the 3rd year. But you can start in the 4th semester itself if you personally reach out to companies. Sometimes you are also offered internships as a reward for a competition you took part in.

Placement Experience :

All 4th year students are eligible for campus placements. I am a first-year student so I have less knowledge about the placement process and related things but all stats are available online. The IIT Guwahati's highest package (international) stood at 2.4 cpa and the highest domestic package offered was 1.1 cpa.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I am from the General category so I paid the full fees. but there are few concessions for other category students. Also, you will learn about many scholarships once you reach college like Altium Women's Scholarship, Kotak Kanya Scholarship, etc.

Campus Life :

The campus is situated on the bank of the river Brahmaputra and is very beautiful. It is spread over 700 acres of land and has many lakes and mountains. Techniche is the annual Techno-Management fest held in August/September. Spirit is the annual Sports Fest of IIT Guwahati, one of the largest Sports festivals in North-East India. Alcheringa is the annual Cultural Fest, organized in the month of February.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is quite good. we cannot disclose the name of the company visiting the campus because the training and placement cell of NIT SILCHAR did not allow us to disclose the names of the companies. My plan after getting my degree is to go through the UPSC exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I was interested in this course. Here the faculty-to-student ratio would be around 1:25 which is very good we can clarify our doubts by asking the faculty, the Qualification of the teaching method will mostly be the same, they are PhD, but their teaching experience plays a major role and their teaching method varies from faculty to faculty but it would be nice. Term exams would be around 5 months Difficulty in passing the exams depends on the faculty.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th sem onwards students are eligible for campus. As per the guidelines of the training and placement cell, the name of the company visited can't be disclosed. There are too many companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Almost all the students who are eligible for placements get placed with a good package.
