During the 2017-2019 session, the total fee for the M.Tech program, including hostel, mess, and tuition, was approximately 98,000 to 99,000 INR for two years. However, from 2020 onwards, the fee structure has increased significantly, and the previous stipend has been discontinued. Placement and job opportunities for M.Tech students, especially in the Water Resources specialization, are limited. Although other students have access to internships, M.Tech students received a stipend of 12,400 INR. IIT Guwahati's campus includes branches of State Bank and Canara Bank, which offer loans at reduced interest rates to support students financially.
