Hostel facility is nice .In the very first year we will be alloted in room of 4 people we can' t select our roommate it will be automatically alloted and from second year you will be alloted in a room of 2people .
There are small rooms in the hostel. We have common washrooms on the floor. we have good hostel faculty in the hostel. they will provide good services when we are sick. we have hostel fees of about 80000 per year.
We have two main annual fests RAGAM and TATHVA which are cultural and technical fest respectively. Ragam is south India's biggest cultural fest. Generally former happens in March or April and the latter happens in november or something. Dates can change no sureity in that. The library is super big and so many of them like central, and then libraries dedicated to each department. Books are enough if you come on time to issue them otherwise keep chilling in your room, many subscriptions to research sites like Science directs, Research Gate, and more. Classrooms are basic with fans, projectors, and good seats. we have every possible sport here like most sports clubs are present here. We have clubs like unwired, aero unwired, robotics interest group, debate &cultural group, book club, ai club, foss cell, GDSC, and many more all run by students and each club has a dedicated website run by students themselves.
We have very small room for two students . They provide wash rooms only for whole floor.we have menu like chicken or egg or fish every day for lunch and a veggie curry and some fruit fir lunch. For dinner we have some dosa or parotta or millmaker biriyani.we have good hostel faculty and they provide good services when we are sick.
Our hostels rooms are good enough for living we get 24hrs power supply and water supply is sometimes slow, not all the times and our hostel staff wardens etc.. are very co operative towards students we will also have some games in common room to play and we have one telivision for each floor
REG is through the hostel app itself 1st years will have 4 per room, 2nd and 3rd years will be 2 per room, and 4th year single rooms will be allocated no AC rooms through the hostels, and food will be an issue for other states.
The faculties given by hostel was very good . There are so many workers for every hostel . The works clean every day and do all work as time table. They all ways work to gether and if complaint will give then the hostel facilities take imediate action . The food was ok , spicy people don't like because there will less spicy and some of food was sweet. The menu was follow as usewell, there will both non veg and veg and also south and north food also . For getting room in hostel you need to take hostel I'd card from main hostel office then the hostel facilities give your room and this will helpful to study very nicely. The hostels will be near to college some hostels are in campus and some are outside there will provide bus for outside hostels till 6 pm from morning 7am
There are mainly two fests in the National Institute of technology Calicut. The cultural one is RAGAM and The technical fest is TATHVA. Ragam is the biggest cultural fest in South India. ragam is conducted in March and tathva is conducted in November first week or in October last 2 weeks. All kinds of books related to academics are available in the library, but their count is relatively low compared to the students. The journals of books are high. All classrooms contain a projector screen and speaker. And also contains wifi. Sports and extracurricular activities are the same as different NITs. The ragam . The tattva and almost all the clubs are run by students themselves.

One of my friends once shared his experiences considering the Hostel of NIT Calicut, whether it is good or bad or anything, but the student must be prepared to incident all kind of things at the time of staying in the hostel.
You might be given a basic crash course regarding the student's body language. This will help you to understand the language spoken by hostel guards and managers as they were from Kerala and speak in Malayalam. Thus, the students from North India and Andhrapradesh (Telegu) must be ready to face this issue in the hostel.
There is always an electricity problem is a hostel, and a student has to use their own mobile data to perform their academics and assignment. Because no electricity means no internet, no fan, no light, and this is very common in the hostel of NIT Calicut. Students may face 2 nights without electricity.
Few of my friends attend NIT Calicut and they were able to give me some information regarding the hostel on campus.
NIT Calicut hostels are good in comparison to many engineering institutions in the country. You will enjoy your engineering life at the hostels there.
NIT Calicut offers decent hostel accommodations. The rooms are double or triple sharing. The institute offers basic amenities such as beds, cupboards, and tables. Hostel rooms have adequate lighting and ventilation. Bathrooms are shared by several rooms. Rooms and washrooms are cleaned regularly. The mess facilities are good. They offer a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
M.Tech students aren’t offered single occupancy rooms, by NIT Calicut.
No, staying in the NIT Calicut hostel for a PG student is not at all compulsory. The administration will ask you to be available throughout the day on the campus and staying in the hostel comes under the residential program but it's not compulsory. No one can force you to avail of hostels.
Staying in the other hostels or PG would be costlier and the hostels at NIT Calicut are supposed to be cheaper. There are a number of rooms with AC within 150 meters from the campus in or near Koyyapuram Apartments.
Therefore, it depends on your will whether to stay in a hostel or anywhere outside the campus and no one can interfere in your decision.
One of my friends had studied at NIT Calicut and here are some facts he shared about the college. These might answer your question.
It would be recommended to talk to the current student of this college, as they can give you a better picture of the current scenario.
NITC MBA hostel is one of the newest hostels on the campus. The MBA hostel is exclusively for boys, and the rooms are large enough for two people. Each room has two beds (no mattress), two tables, two chairs, two almirah, one fan, one tube light, and two windows.
For every two rooms, there is a shared bathroom. The hostel also has a good laundry service. The mess is close to the hostel. Overall, it's a very nice hostel with good facilities and lots of greenery. The hostel has the capacity to accommodate around 300 students, including visiting faculty.
A separate ultra-modern hostel facility for girls is also available. The girls' hostel has a mini-canteen, an indoor shuttle court, a gymnasium, and an extension of the co-operative society store.
Hostels in NIT C for the PG students are not good. Students are allotted to the Professor's Apartment in their first tear.
This was the scenario of the first year and for the second year students, the scenario is a bit different. The second-year students are mostly accommodated in the MBA hostels which have toilets attached with the rooms but are far from the previous apartments where you were living in the first year.
Wi-Fi is available on the campus and works well for the new buildings and hostels. At the time of joining they will tell you that the new hostels are under construction and will be ready to move soon.
Please take a note that if possible go for the kitchen as that will be the only single room accommodation available for you as a PG student in NIT Calicut.
