Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology - [MANIT], Bhopal

The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, commonly referred to as NIT Bhopal, was founded in 1960. It is an Institute of National Importance. The Institute was established to deliver the best engineering education. The Institute provides programs in a variety of specializations for BTech, BPlan, BArch, MTech, MPlan, MCA, MBA, and PhD degrees. MANIT has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with numerous national and international organizations, including DAUTO, Texas Instruments, Ericsson India Pvt. Ltd., DIDACTA Italia, ESIEE Paris, and Crompton Greaves, Bhopal, among others, to boost research in the engineering field.

MANIT Bhopal is a public technical university. In 2002, it became a National Institute of Technology, and in 2007, the NIT Act designated it as an Institute of National Importance. The NIT Council administers the institute, which is wholly sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. MANIT Bhopal is an autonomous university and ranks 80 in the engineering category by NIRF 2023. MANIT Bhopal provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees. MANIT Bhopal campus spans 650 acres and provides a hostel for both males and females.

MANIT Bhopal Admission

NIT Bhopal admission to various UG (B.Tech, B.plan, B.Arch) and PG courses (MBA, MCA, M.Tech, and M.Plan), and research programs (Ph.D) is based on national level exams accepted by the institute. B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is the flagship course of NIT Bhopal. Admissions to the program are made through the JEE Main entrance test followed by JoSAA counseling. The JEE Main cutoff for CSE at NIT Bhopal ranges between 7061 and 7877. 

A full-time B.Tech program is available from MANIT in seven specializations: civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics & communication engineering, computer science & engineering, material science & metallurgical engineering, and chemical engineering. The JEE Main entrance exam must be taken by applicants seeking admission to the program. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required subjects and have at least 75% overall marks in order to be eligible for admission to the B.Tech program at MANIT Bhopal. The first-year fee for the B.Tech at NIT Bhopal is INR 71,068, which is payable at the time of admission.

Other than this, NIT Bhopal also offers various other programs such as MSc, MCA, and MBA based on other national-level exams. Whereas for MBA, CAT scores are required. MANIT Bhopal offers a placement drive that offers a decent package. • One Student, One Job: Each student who qualifies for campus recruitment is only permitted to hold one job. Once a student is hired by a corporation, he is not permitted to switch jobs.
• Dream Status Policy: Based on their market status and the profile they provide to students, the Institute will grant Dream Status to specific businesses. The Training & Placement Officer alone determines whether the organization qualifies for "Dream Statuses." 
• Public sector enterprise firms: If a student is chosen for a PSU, he or she is not eligible for any other company, regardless of the status of the firm.
• Candidate Sponsors: Sponsored M.Tech, MBA, MUDP, and Ph.D. students are not permitted on campus.

MANIT Bhopal Internships and Scholarships

Based on merit, the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) in Bhopal awards financial aid and scholarships to eligible and needy students. The National Merit Scholarship, the National Fellowship for Students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, the Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, the Central Sector Scholarship Program for College and University Students, the State Merit Scholarship, and the Merit Scholarship for Students with Physical Disabilities are some of the scholarships.

For UG students, eligibility for an internship begins after the sixth semester with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 and no backlog. Up to 10% of the class size may be eligible for an internship. Any further growth will only be taken into consideration with the proper Senate Chairman's consent and will not exceed 15% of class strength. Since the B.Arch program currently includes a one-semester internship in the final year, only B.Tech/B. Plan students will be eligible for an internship. The steps for recommending: Applying for an internship should be done through the relevant HOD.

For PG students, individuals who have finished two semesters of coursework are eligible for internships. The applicant must achieve a minimum CGPA of 7.5. A summary of the proposed work to be completed during the internship program should be submitted by the candidate. The department committee would review or assess the synopsis to make sure the proposed work is equivalent to M.Tech dissertation work. Before the candidate is let go, the dissertation work must be presented to the department. Additionally, the HOD in question should be contacted when applying for an internship. 

 

MANIT Bhopal Campus Life 

The Institute is located in the center of Bhopal, the state capital of Madhya Pradesh, that spans over 650 acres. The Institute, formerly known as Maulana Azad College of Technology, was founded as one of the country's first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs). The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology was given the title "Institution of National Importance" by the Parliamentary NITSER Act 2007 in June 2002, when it was also raised to the status of a Deemed University and given the new name. The campus of MANIT is well-equipped and includes faculty and staff housing, administrative and institutional buildings, workshops, an energy center, a computer center, a library, and a learning resource center. 4,000 boys and 1,150 girls can stay in MANIT's hostels which can house 1,150 females and 4,000 boys.

The Incubation Center was created by MANIT with the goal of creating an environment for start-up businesses and fostering an innovation-driven entrepreneurial culture. A post office, bank, shopping center, children's school, dispensary, auditorium, guest house, sports complex, playgrounds, and a lovely lake are also included in the list of general amenities.
