The closing date of regular registration is September 29, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 13th October, 2023. Furthermore, GATE 2024 exam dates have been announced. GATE 2024 entrance exam will be held in the month of February. The exam dates for GATE 2024 is on February 3,4,10 & 11. 

VNIT Nagpur offers M.Tech degree in regular mode across 21 different specializations of Engineering for a duration of two years. VNIT Nagpur MTech admission 2024 solely depends on the marks secured in the GATE exam and CCMT counselling. VNIT Nagpur MTech cutoff in overall for the year 2023 ranges from 350-543 for the general category.

VNIT Nagpur MTech program is divided into two course-work i.e., theory and projects/assignments. The minimum eligibility for VNIT Nagpur Mtech admission is a BTech degree with 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks in aggregate from any recognised university. Candidates must qualify the GATE exam with valid score and further registering for CCMT counselling. The CCMT will allot seats at the institute and the candidates will have options to freeze, slide or float the allotted seats.

VNIT M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the M.Tech program are as follows:

  • Candidate must have completed B.Tech/BE in the relevant stream from a recognized institute
  • A CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or 60% score for the OBC/ OC category in the qualifying bachelor’s degree
  • A CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale or 55% score for SC/ ST/ PWD in the bachelor’s degree with the relevant discipline 
  • Other than the criteria above a student must have a valid GATE score for the admission process

VNIT M.Tech Admission Guidelines

Interested students have to appear for the GATE Entrance Exam. Then they need to appear for CCMT counseling, where they will do the choice filling for the programs and colleges they desire for admission in.

The CCMT counseling will do the shortlisting of candidates, based on their GATE rank. Shortlisted applicants will be offered admission.

  • After successful registration, candidates will get access to GOAPS with the credentials you entered.
  • Login using GOAPS Enrollment ID and GOAPS Password
  • Fill in the GATE application form.
  • Upload Image, Signature, Eligibility Certificate, SC/ST Certificate, and PwD Certificate as per the given specifications.
  • Make the Payment through credit card, debit card, or net banking.
  • Read and accept the declaration statement and submit the application form.

Ques. What are the one-time extra charges charged in the 1st year of VNIT M.Tech?

Ans. The college charges one-time fees in the M.Tech program where the student needs to submit a library deposit of Rs. 5000, Caution deposit of Rs. 5000, Identity Card charges of Rs. 200, Medical Exam charges of Rs. 100, Welfare Fund of Rs. 600 and Medical Aid Fund of Rs. 2000 making a total of Rs. 12,900 as extra charges and hence total payable amount reaches to Rs. 93,600.

Ques. Can the student take any elective course in M.tech in Computer science Engineering at VNIT?

Ans. Yes, the student has the option to take one of the elective courses among pattern recognition, cloud computing, or advance digital signal processing in the 1st semester; one of the elective courses among Soft computing techniques, software architecture, or Advances in data mining.

Ques. What is the placement procedure followed at VNIT for M.Tech students?

Ans. The college has a separate Training and Placement cell for placement training where the college conducts workshops on soft skills development, online test modules on technical knowledge and aptitude and the college follows particular placement guidelines wherein a student once applied has to appear for the complete process and should only apply for the company really willing to join.

Ans. The college provides single bed accommodation for Final year B. Tech students, M. Tech and Ph.D. students, and all other facilities are also available as the students have access to the indoor games and the sports facilities. The First, second, and third-year B.
