Guru Nanak Dev University was established in 1969 marking the 500th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak ji. The university offers education to around 20,000 students across faculties. The university ranks 16th among the top 50 universities. It is also NAAC accredited and has been placed 12th by the NAAC. It has also been accredited by the UGC as a ‘University with potential for excellence’. The college provides BA courses in journalism, law, Punjabi and social sciences.

GNDU BA Eligibility Criteria
- GNDU BA Journalism and Mass Communications: Candidates have to pass +2 from any recognized Board or University in any stream with at least 50% marks.
- GNDU BA (Hons): Candidate must have at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in the subject concerned in the semester I and semester II examinations of the B.A
- Students options for Hindi Patrakarita are also eligible for BA(Hons) in Hindi.
- Students of B.A. who opts for Functional English as elective subject for three years also be allowed to study honours in English, provided he has obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in functional English in semester I and Semester II.
- GNDU BA Pass course:Candidates have to pass 12th board exams from any recognized board.
GNDU BA Admission Guidelines
Admissions to the BA programs are based on merit obtained by the students in the entrance exam conducted by the department.
How to Apply?
- Go to the university’s website and sign up for the admission
- LogIn and register for a particular course
- A one-time non-refundable fee of Rs 1200 for general category students, Rs 600 for SC/ST category students, and $500 USD for NRIs.
- Fill the online application form
- Print out the filled application, attach certificates. The application form has to be attested as well.
- Candidates have to get an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- Hardy copy of the documents and the filled application form should be sent to the university while the soft copy should be uploaded on the website.
- The college will send candidates a formal admission letter if selected. Those who have received letters can deposit the course fees
- Fees have to be paid within two days of the names being declared on the notice board.
