As per the IIT BHU placement trends, big companies like Microsoft and Facebook don’t care much about CGPA. These companies select students based on their coding skills. They have a crisp and straightforward procedure for interviews. If you can pass the coding tests and answer the questions, you will be hired.
Companies like DE Shaw, Adobe, Arista, etc. give weightage to CGPA. But if you are good at coding, you can get selected, even with a low CGPA.
So, if your coding skills are on point, you don’t need to worry about placements.
Rather than placements, CGPA matters more at the time of internships. Many companies don’t shortlist students with lower CGPA. So, try to keep your CGPA above 8.

Most students are recruited in non-core job profiles such as Software Developer, Data Scientist, etc. The highest CTC offered for the students of this branch is around INR 38 LPA.
The average package depends upon the branch in which you are studying, and it’s generally more for CSE (Computer Science), MnC (Mathematics and Computing), ECE (Electronics) and EEE (Electrical). This is due to the reason many of the students go for software profile jobs and are being paid high from this branch. This doesn’t mean that other branch students don’t get good placements, many students of other branches are very well placed and as similar as these above branches.
