IIT BHU Placement 2023: Highest Package: INR 1.2 CPA

In terms of placement for Electrical Engineering students in Systems Engineering at IIT BHU, there are several opportunities provided by companies of various domains. The selection of a student in a specific job profile depends on the interest of the student towards that specific domain.

• The Systems Engineering branch allows the admission of students from EE, EC, and IN branches, having a valid GATE score (also known as an interdisciplinary course).
• The course of Systems Engineering mostly comprises Electrical Engineering subjects. So, students from the Department of EC and IN face some problems in certain subjects like Power system operations, control engineering, electric drives, etc. Other than such courses, most topics are related to control systems, which are simpler topics for EC and IN students.

Some of them include Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Apple, Qualcomm, SAP labs, Intel, Kla Tencor, Eaton, Cognizant, TCS, JP Morgan, GE, Bosch, Math works, Mercedes Benz, Texas Instruments, Tata Motors, Honeywell, Cisco, Morgan Stanley, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Relaxo, etc.
• Students are even offered jobs in lectureship at several universities and coaching institutes.
• There is a parameter for students to sit for a maximum of 60 companies in placement, as given by the institute. So, students need to choose among companies.

Overall, there are several options in placement for students in Systems Engineering at IIT BHU. Mostly, the selection of a student depends on his/her choice in the working area or depends on the project developed by the student during his/her tenure. There is a good chance for a student to get a proper match in the job profile offered by the companies.

Although the placement for B.Tech is slightly better, the placement scenario for M.Tech students in IIT BHU is considered to be excellent, the institute being a premium institute in the country. IIT BHU offers several streams for an M.Tech degree, and placements in varying profiles too.

• The placement in M.Tech at IIT BHU is definitely top-notch. There is a 90% rate in placement, even in the core branches. For CS, IT, and EXTC branches, the placements are close to 100%, as these are the most trending industries.
• Students who are successful in cracking GATE and are having a sufficient rank for IIT BHU M.Tech should definitely go for the same, which is one of the best options for his/her career.

The placements of Pharmaceutical Engineering at IIT BHU are presently not considered to be excellent but are at a growing phase. There are several reasons which lead to the not-so-satisfactory placement of Pharmaceutical Engineering, and some of them are listed in the key highlights. • Just a few years back, the department of Pharmaceutical Engineering was called B.Pharm. This is one of the reasons why several companies can’t recognize the stream, and so didn’t open their recruitment procedure for the department to date.
• Slowly with time, there are companies who have started recruiting students from Pharmaceutical Engineering, which is evident by the fact that there are new names every year in the list of companies who have visited the campus for placement.
• Among all other sectors, the Pharmaceutical industry stands second among the fastest growing industries in the world.
• In the Pharmaceutical industry, there is immense scope for research-oriented works. So, most students are hired by organizations offering research profiles, and very few corporate jobs are seen to be offered to students.

This is the overall placement scenario of Pharmaceutical Engineering at IIT BHU, which is not very good in quality and quantity, but is increasing with time and according to market demands.

The placement data and statistics are not released in public, but few details get somehow leaked by the students in the placement cell.

IIT BHU kicked off its annual placement for 2019, with four international job offers and the highest salary package of INR 1.53 crore per annum. Most of these offers ranged from INR 10 LPA to INR 58.21 LPA. Some of the top recruiters that visited were Google, Uber , Microsoft, Cisco, Goldman Sachs.

Around 1063 students from BTech registered for the placements and out of which 773 students got placements. As per the trends, the department of computer science, electrical engineering, department of Mathematical sciences and electronics engineering maintained a high degree of placements.

Though the placement offering in each branch is growing every year, the highest number of placements were from Mechanical and industrial engineering departments.

The major recruiters of IIT BHU include Maruti, EXL, Wipro, Tata Steel, Oracle, Morgan Stanley, etc. The average package offered was 8.19 lakhs with 109 students placed which is the highest among other streams.

Apart from these firms, students of IIT BHU also grab opportunities for internships in many international universities. The top-notch international universities where students of IIT BHU acquired internships offered were University of Tokyo, University of London, University of New South Wales, Harvard University.

The summer internship program starts at the beginning of May and the duration is around 8 weeks in companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Tata Steel and Bajaj. As an outcome of the continuous efforts by the institute, students have been pursuing internships and projects at various national and international academic institutions and companies.

So overall, having great results in the academics, IIT BHU stands no apart from the other IITs in terms of placements and summer internships offered to the students. Lastly it is a great opportunity and learning experience for students to get admitted at IIT BHU for industrial engineering.

The average package depends upon the branch in which you are studying, and it’s generally more for CSE (Computer Science), MnC (Mathematics and Computing), ECE (Electronics) and EEE (Electrical). This is due to the reason many of the students go for software profile jobs and are being paid high from this branch. This doesn’t mean that other branch students don’t get good placements, many students of other branches are very well placed and as similar as these above branches. The trend of placement in IIT BHU shows students who go for software profile jobs (it doesn’t depend on your branch, almost all students do coding) get good packages.

Now coming to placement statistics, in December 2019, 4 students had got international offers and remaining also got very good placements. Out of 1063 students registered for the placements, 762 got very good placements in the first phase. Also, 172 students had got PPO (Pre-Placement Offer).

Placements of any college depend on its Alumni Network and this fact can’t be denied that being a 100-Year-Old institution IIT BHU has a wide range of alumni working in every area. Placements here are comparable to other IIT’s. MTech in Mechanical at IIT BHU has a good placement percentage. IIT BHU has Training and Placement Cell working hard for the placement of their students.
There are several PSUs like IOCL, ISRO, BPCL, HUL, CIL, ONGC, etc. who came to the campus for placement drive. Besides there are other private firms too like Bajaj, Maruti, Jaguar, Trident Automobiles, etc. that visit campus too for recruiting students from MTech in Mechanical Engineering. With good placement percentage students are placed in well knows firms with an average pay package of 8.10 Lakhs per annum and the highest package offered was 30 LPA CTC.
