Presidency University Bangalore, established in the year 2013, offers a full time as well as a part time Ph.D degree across a wide variety of specializations. The university offers the Ph.D degree across 14 specializations, such as Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Library Science, English, Environmental Science, Law, Management. 

• Candidates aspiring to take admission into the Ph.D course must have appeared for the Ph.D entrance examination conducted by the institute, or should have a valid score of either of the NET/ UGC NET/ CEED/ KSET/ GATE examinations. 
• To be eligible for the admissions, candidates should have a Master’s degree or a relevant professional degree equivalent to a Master’s degree, with a good academic record and a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, or its equivalent grade ‘B’ under the UGC 7-point scale system.

Presidency University Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

The applying candidate should have either of the two following criteria fulfilled.

• The candidate should have a Master’s degree or a relevant professional degree equivalent to a Master’s degree, with a good academic record and a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, or its equivalent grade ‘B’ under the UGC 7-point scale system.

                                                                                          OR

• The candidate should have an M. Phil degree with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade ‘B’ under the UGC7-point scale system in the coursework of the M. Phil program.

Presidency University Ph.D Admission Procedure

The admission process for the PhD program at Presidency University includes two stages:

• The first stage will involve a valid score in the Ph.D entrance examination conducted by Presidency University, Bangalore, or either of the NET/ UGC NET/ GATE/ CEED/ KSET examination.
• The second stage will involve a personal interview of the candidates, selected candidates will be called for a personal interview.
•  Admission will be offered to the students on the basis of their performance in both the stages.

How to Apply?

Candidates have to download the application form from the official website of the university. Send the filled application form with the required documents as specified in the forms. A non-refundable application fee of INR 1000/- is to be paid in the form of DD or through NEFT.
