Location was a big factor. The better weather, closeness to downtown played a major role. UBC being pretty reputed and the quality academic faculty made me very inclined towards this degree.
I opted for it because their undergraduate and graduate psychology programs are in the top 10-15 and their research output is really high. Additionally, the location and potential for a Postgraduate work permit really influenced me.
I chose UBC because you could feel like you were near enough to the city to access it but not too close to feel like you were literally an extension of it. Also, Vancouver has some hiking which I wasn't able to access back to my home country of Singapore!
There are a lot of reasons for me choosing this college. The ranking of the s course is very good, and besides that, it's a complete package for a student like me. There are proper studies, proper exposure, diversity, a lot of work opportunities, it's located in a peaceful country and university is a good mix of everything fun and studies.
I chose UBC because of its high ranking for psychology, which is the subject I intended on pursuing. The beautiful and diverse campus was also a factor in my decision.
I love Vancouver as a city plus the number of job opportunities plus the ability to obtain PR easier as compared to other countries.
