You will be surprised to know that PGDM Dual Country (DCP) and regular PGDM courses are similar with the only difference being that PGDM DC would let you have your 1st year in Dubai. My sister recently completed her DC course, and here are some of the similarities and differences between both the courses you need to know before opting for this course:

For both DCP and PGDM, the subjects are the same however the books differ by being global and Indian editions respectively.
In DCP, you have to take the initiative for projects, competitions, and events individually. Whereas, in PGDM, you will get assisted by committees.
The infrastructure of IMT Ghaziabad is brilliant and offers better and unique campus life, however, the fees are also a lot.
You will see almost no difference in placements of either course as they are conducted in Ghaziabad in the 2nd year.
There is also no difference in the selection process for the interviews.
Finding a summer placement while belonging to DCP might be challenging.

All in all, DCP is arguably a good course for business enthusiasts. However, every great thing comes with a cost. This course is a bit expensive. If you feel that placements are the ultimate goal for you, pursuing regular PGDM from IMT Ghaziabad would do. But if you see your scope in global business and budget is not a constraint for you, go for DCP without a second thought.

IMT Ghaziabad is a better option. It is an old course and has better brand recognition. IMT Ghaziabad has a legacy of more than 30 years and a huge alumni base. The general management program has a good placement record. IMT Ghaziabad placements in 2022 concluded with an average CTC of INR 15.28 LPA. While the highest CTC received by the students was INR 62 LPA.

IMT Ghaziabad offers a variety of courses that cater to various specializations. These courses have been listed and explained in their order of preference

PGDM Marketing/PGDM Full Time (Marketing): This is the most coveted program among IMT students mainly because today its alumni have acquired top positions in big firms. Other major reasons include top-notch faculty, great internship and placement opportunities in terms of role and CTC, IMT’s eligibility, and excellent performances in recognized marketing and strategy B Schools competitions.

PGDM Finance/PGDM Full Time (Finance): This one is most suitable for aspirants who are interested in Finance. However, this program offers lesser opportunities than the Marketing program in terms of role and CTC.

PGDM Full Time (Operations): This program offers opportunities similar to that of Finance. But the batch size of PGDM Operations is smaller than PGDM Finance, so it may be easier to secure an internship/final placement, but the opportunities come less compared to Finance.

PGDM DCP: DCP or the Dual Country Program is for those who are keen to get international exposure. Compared to an MBA from a foreign university, this program is cheaper and yet offers an opportunity to explore a different culture and learn to make decisions in an international context. My brother is currently a first-year student of the same and has a lot to say about the course through his experience. He joined the program only after in-depth research. What attracted him the most was the location of the program, Dubai, which is the hub of globalization. Some major highlights of the course are

The curriculum is similar to that of the IMT Ghaziabad PGDM program but the additional international exposure is the cherry on the top.
The program is taught by an elite faculty base comprising globally recognized professors. The foreign professors mainly hailing from France, the US, Slovenia, UK offer a broader insight into the international management aspects
Right after the end of the First Term you are allotted Company Projects. You have to work in accordance with Dubai culture and will learn a lot about the field you are entering. You can do more than one such project also as that will broaden your network and knowledge.

I would say that you should definitely choose XIMB.

It's their primary program, and it will be much better than IMT G's DCP program. Just because of cost. The DCP program has fees that are over 22 lakhs and an average package of around 9 lakhs per annum. In contrast, the XIMB BM program has an average package of 13 lakhs per annum and fees of 15.40 lakhs for two years. Also, keep in mind that the DCP program is still new, so there won't be much support from the business.

I would have considered IMT G if it was a full-time program. If you can move up to IMT Ghaziabad and want to get an MBA with a focus on marketing and entrepreneurship courses, you should choose IMT Ghaziabad. But the DCP course fee isn't worth it for the same opportunity unless you want to work abroad, especially in Dubai.

What is better at IMT Ghaziabad PGDM or PGDM DCP?

Both programs have their own advantages and disadvantages so the answer would largely depend on what you want from your MBA. The DCP program of IMT Ghaziabad is a very unique course where students get to study at a partner (foreign) B-School and have a compulsory international immersion program. In terms of placements opportunity, I don’t believe they are doing anything exceptional as regards to the fee they are charging for this partcilaur course but if you want to explore universities abroad you could definitely join IMT for their DCP program.

Their flagship PGDM program is a 2 years full-time residential program where you will have to choose your elective at the start of your second year and you’ll also be given a chance to fill out the application for the student exchange program. PGDM should be your obvious choice if you’re given both option and you’re not adamant about living in Dubai.

Which is better TAPMI OR IMT-DCP Gaziabad for PGDM MBA?

Too close to call. Both are good choices to consider. On the other hand, if I have to take a call, I will most likely use BITSOM. Based on the below-mentioned reasons;

Has a clear and compelling vision. aspires to be one of the best schools there is. Has aspirations on a worldwide scale.
Has recruited highly qualified faculty and teams
Very strongly supported
Being open to making investments.

Therefore, it's possible that both will be tied in the short term, but I have a feeling that in the long run, BITSOM will pull ahead. The MBA, on the other hand, is strictly a long-term investment.
