PTE Summarize Spoken Test

Listening summary PTE or summarize spoken test requires a candidate to listen to recording. Candidate is then required to write a summary for the same in 50-70 words. The deadline for completion of the listening summary PTE task is 10 minutes. To answer the PTE summarize spoken test, you will have to listen to an audio of 60-90 seconds. You might consider utilizing the cut, copy and paste options available in PTE summarize spoken tests. Options can be utilized as mentioned below:

  • Cut: Select text from your answer that you wish to remove and left-click “Cut”.
  • Copy: Select text from your answer that you wish to copy and left-click “Copy”.
  • Paste: Place the cursor where you wish to paste the cut/copied text and left-click “Paste”.

Multiple Choice Choose Multiple Answer PTE 

You will be redirected to the next task that is multiple choice multiple answers PTE listening. In this task you are required to choose multiple answers that are relevant to the audio you were provided with. Timeline for the prompt of this task is 40-90 seconds. In order to answer this, you are required to select multiple choices that match or are relevant to the audio. To select an option click on it using the left button on your mouse. If you change your mind, left-click on the option again to deselect it. The options you select are highlighted in yellow.

Fill in the Blanks PTE Listening 

PTE listening fill in the blanks is the next task. This task requires the candidate to listen to an audio and fill the blanks in the transcripts. This requires you to type the missing words as you heard from the recordings. Time for the prompt of this task is 30-60 seconds. A transcript of a recording appears on the screen, with several gaps. After listening to the recording, type the missing word in each gap. The task audio plays automatically, you are required to listen. Left-click on each gap and type in the missing word. You can also use the Tab button on the keyboard to move between gaps.

Highlight Correct Summary

The next task is to highlight the correct summary PTE. You will be subjected to listening to an audio. Post completion of the audio, you will be required to select the best suited summary of the lectures. Timeline for the prompt of this task is 30-90 seconds. There are several possible response options but only one is correct. To select an option click on it using the left button on your mouse. If you change your mind, left-click on the option again to deselect it, or left-click on a different option. The option you select is highlighted in yellow.

Multiple Choice, Choose Single Answer

In this task you are required to listen to an audio select the appropriate option that summarizes the recording. The length of the prompt is 30-90 seconds. Candidates will have to select a single option out of multiple choices that suit the scenario. To select an option click on it using the left button on your mouse. If you change your mind, left-click on the option again to deselect it, or left-click on a different option. The option you select is highlighted in yellow.

Select Missing Word 

The next task involves the candidate selecting a missing word from the given options. In the PTE select the missing word task, the candidate will listen to an audio that will have ‘beep.’ Further he is required to choose the appropriate word that replaces the beep. Timeline for the prompt of this task is 20-70 seconds. To select an option click on it using the left button on your mouse. If you change your mind, left-click on the option again to deselect it, or left-click on a different option. The option you select is highlighted in yellow.

Highlight Incorrect Words

PTE highlight incorrect words requires you to highlight the inappropriate word present in the transcript. You will hear an audio clip for the same transcript. You need to identify and select the words (by left-clicking on them) that are different from the words in the lecture from the audio clip. Timeline for this task is 15-50 seconds. To select an option click on it using the left button on your mouse. If you change your mind, left-click on the option again to deselect it, or left-click on a different option. The option you select is highlighted in yellow.

Write from Dictation 

PTE listening write from dictation requires candidates to listen to an audio clip with a sentence that is played automatically. Candidate is required to type the exact sentence. Time allotted for this task will be 3-5 seconds. Candidates are entitled to take erasable notes and utilize them. After writing the assessment, remember to check on your spellings.
