Exemptions of PTE Test for Australian PR
The applicants of Australian Permanent Residency need not take the PTE English language proficiency test if they satisfy the following conditions;
- The applicant should be a Citizen and holds a passport issued by the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, and the Republic of Ireland.
- The applicant’s English should be assessed as functional by the Australian Adult Migrant English Program service provider.
- The applicant should have completed a degree, higher degree, and diploma or trade certificate in an institution in or outside Australia with at least 2 years of full-time study and instructions in English.
The applicant should satisfy either one of the conditions in the education category:
- All years of Primary and at least 3 years of secondary school in or outside Australia with instructions in English
- At least 5 years of secondary school in or outside Australia with instructions in English
- At least 1-year full-time study towards an award in an Australian institution with instructions in English
- The part-time equivalent of 1 year of full-time study towards an award in an Australian institution with instructions in English
