PTE Reading tests your ability to read and write in English. PTE Reading test takes 32-41 minutes and will test your reading skills. PTE reading section extensively measures the candidate’s skills by providing distinctive question types – both independent and integrated skills. Multiple Choice Questions - Choose a Single Option

PTE Multiple choice single answer is a part of the PTE reading tasks section that has a prompt of around 300 words. Test-takers need to thoroughly read the question prompt considering it is the most vital part of the question, and select the accurate answer from the choice. In PTE reading section, time-management is crucial, therefore, try to spend just 2-3 minutes for PTE multiple choice single answer.

Re-order Paragraphs

In this PTE reading module, sentences are placed in random order and you are required to sequence them in a logical manner. Use the “dragging and dropping” option item, or use the arrow buttons on the screen, here the most important key to making a logical formation is to arrange sentences into the correct order. You have to tap on each one and drag it into the empty text box.

Fill in the Blanks

At the bottom of the screen, there is a group of individual words mentioned in small boxes. You are supposed to use your mouse to drag the correct word to its corresponding blank space in the text. Test takers will get marks for every correct word they insert into the paragraph, so you are suggested to not leave anything blank, even if you are unsure about your answer. In this section, questions are based on reading blanks PTE for which more word options are given as compared to the blank spaces, only use the ones that fit in the available space. Since none of the reading tasks are timed individually, so does the reading blanks PTE accordingly keeping all the sections in mind.

Reading & Writing- Fill in the blanks

In the Reading Writing blanks PTE , test takers will be presented with a reading text of around 300 words. There will be some missing keywords, represented by blank text boxes. On clicking on the blank box, a drop-down menu will appear with a list of words and you are supposed to choose the correct word to complete each sentence.

Test takers will get credit for every correct word they insert into the paragraph, so you are suggested not to leave anything blank, even in case you are not sure of the option. You must note down that none of the reading tasks are timed individually, which means you get a total of 30-40 minutes to complete the entire PTE reading test.

PTE Reading: Score

PTE score is set following the Global Scale of English. PTE score report consists of three parts: Overall Score, Communicative Skills Scores, and Enabling Skill Score. The PTE overall score ranges from 10 – 90. PTE reading comes under the communicative skills section which also includes listening, writing, and speaking, and the score range is 10 – 90 for each. The PTE reading scoring is slightly different for each of the 5 PTE reading tasks:

Read Aloud PTE Speaking

The read aloud PTE, is the part of PTE speaking section wherein the candidate needs to read aloud the text, line, or paragraph which will display on the screen right before them along with the recording status box and countdown timer. In PTE speaking read aloud, 30-40 seconds will be given to prepare the content and submit the final submission of the recording through the microphone.
