NIT Raipur is spread across 100 acres and is located in the Raipur city, Chhattisgarh's state capital. Raipur is situated on the main Howrah-Mumbai railway line and has daily flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Nagpur, and Bhubaneswar. The institute sits on NH-6, the Great Eastern Road, about 5 kilometers from Raipur's train station and 14 kilometers from the airport. Because of the number of adjacent enterprises, including cement, steel, steel alloy, mines, and so on, the institute has a significant edge for industry-institute interaction in a variety of engineering fields.

Two sports grounds, two volleyball courts, one basketball court, one handball court, a canteen, an amul parlor, and a supermarket are all part of the college campus. Throughout the year, several clubs organize various festivals, the most prominent of which are eclectika and Samar. NIT Raipur is located in the heart of the city, allowing you easy access to your daily requirements as well as emergency services. The AIIMS Raipur campus is around 4 kilometers away from the NIT Raipur Campus.

Residential amenities for students, a central library, a guest house, medical facilities, sports facilities, and an estate office are all available at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur. On campus, there is also a juice center and a Coffee Day beverages center. NIT Raipur also has separate dorms for males and ladies, each having basic amenities like a mess, a badminton court, a garden, and so on.

The Central Library is situated in the main building. It has a good collection of textbooks and references books (more than 1 lakh) in the general library section and book bank section. The central library has subscribed to 50 numbers of print journals, 31 numbers of magazines, and 16 numbers of national and state-level newspapers. It has a rich collection of e-resources which include nearly 1,50,000 e-books, subscriptions to 16 online databases having nearly 6700 full-text e-journals, and 690 online journal archives (back files of journals) related to all branches. 

The library automation program through LibSys7- a library management software, is in progress. The Web OPAC can be accessed from anywhere to know about the collections of the library. Fully wifi enabled and air-conditioned reading room with 74 seating capacity and digital library services remains open from 9 am to 8 pm on weekdays and Saturdays. It caters to the information and document need of nearly 5000 users consisting of faculty members, staff, and B.Tech. / M.Tech. / MCA students and research scholars satisfactorily.

NIT Raipur Social Life

In addition to the rigorous academic requirements, NIT Raipur provides students with numerous opportunities for social interaction and bonding with their cohort. NIT Raipur is well-known for its yearly student initiatives and year-round events. Among the notable events are:

  • AAVARTAN: AAVARTAN is NIT Raipur's annual TechFest, which includes over 30 activities, a science display, and several attractions.
  • ECLECTIKA: ECLECTIKA is the largest cultural festival in Central India. It all began in 2007 with a concept, an idea to give a platform for talent development.
  • SAMAR: SAMAR is the Annual College Sports Festival of NIT Raipur and was organized by "SHAURYA" The Sports Committee of NIT Raipur.

Students with proven technical credentials join forces with the common goal of nurturing the sportsman within each of us and providing a platform for great sportsmanship to be weaved into each of us. Shaurya has been in charge of all sporting activities at the institute. The committee arranges events such as Samar (the annual sports festival), inter-branch tournaments, and so on. 

The committee also assists in the correct organization and formation of teams that represent NIT Raipur at national-level sporting events such as the Inter-NIT Sports Meet. The group has been helpful in organizing infrequent practice sessions and establishing a positive sports climate at the college. With several awards and accolades, we can confidently state that NIT Raipur has a very proficient crew in sports such as cricket and football.

  • Inside the campus, there are five boys' hostels. Hostels A, B, C, D, and F all contain a dining hall as well as a leisure area with TV, table tennis, and carrom, among other amenities. Hostel H offers a well-equipped dining hall as well as a recreation space (likely to be equipped with indoor games and other facilities for recreation).
  • The NIT Raipur dispensary is located next to the NCC office. There are two rooms for the physicians and one for the employees. The dispensary provides free distribution of pharmaceuticals, free ODP counseling, and free ambulance service for hospitalization to all students and staff members.
  • NIT Raipur also includes a well-equipped gymnasium that is available to all officers, staff, and students.\
  • The university campus provides great ICT Infrastructure for students.
  • GEC-NIT Raipur Alumni Organization. Creating a continual and effective contact channel among alumni Developing and launching long-term programs for the Institute's, Students', and Alumni's growth and welfare.

  • The campus has a fully automated State Bank of India branch with an ATM. This SBI ATM is located next to the Architecture Building. SBI offers students the option of "e-collection." Students can pay their tuition online. All students have access to the University's banks and ATMs.
  • Under the livelihood mission "BIHAN," NIT Raipur has received a proposal from NRLM to open an All-in-One store as well as a copying and printing service shop.
  • With approval from authorities, the guest house provides lodging for institute guests, faculty/staff members of the institute, visitors from other educational institutes, and parents of students.
