According to the Director of IIT Delhi, Prof. Ramgopal Rao, JEE Main 2021 exam dates for January session can be delayed by a month. Earlier, NTA Director-General Vineet Joshi conveyed that JEE Main 2021 exam dates will also be impacted by the reopening of school and board examination schedule.
NTA is expected to start the registration process for JEE Main 2021 in October 2020. Over 11 lakh students are likely to take the JEE Main 2021 examination. The registration portal will available for about 1 month. The candidates must complete their registration as early as possible and not wait for the last date. JEE Main 2021 is likely to be scheduled in the 2nd week of January 2021.
This is because of the delay in start of the academic session of 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. JEE Main 2020 April session was also delayed and the exam was conducted between September 1-6, 2020.

Can JEE Main 2021 January session be delayed?
- JEE Main 2020 April session was postponed thrice before being conducted between September 1-6, 2020. Because of this reason, aspirants have doubts about JEE Main 2021 January session exam dates.
- According to the officials, JEE Main 2021 exam dates for January session would depend on the COVID-19 situations and also on the fact whether 12th Board exams would be postponed or not.
- If there is a delay in 12th board exams, JEE Main 2021 January session might definitely be postponed.
- However, NTA’s Director-General Vineet Joshi plans to conduct JEE Main 2021 January session on time.

JEE Main 2021 Reservation Criteria
Every year, a percentage of seats are reserved for the economically backward classes. According to the rules of the Government, 10% of the seats are reserved for EWS while the additional reservation is available for candidates belonging to OBC, SC/ST, and PwD category. Such candidates are also given special advantage under other important processes such as application, eligibility, seat allotment, etc.
Although there has been no official circular, JEE Main 2021 Reservation Criteria is expected to be similar to that of the previous years. The table below shows the percentage of seats reserved for JEE Main 2021.

JEE Main 2021 Application Form shall be made on the official website of NTA @jeemain.nta.nic.in. The registration process can only be made on this website as NTA is solely responsible for conducting this examination throughout the country.

The candidate must have a valid phone number and email id as all the details of the registration of the candidate will be sent on it.

The candidates are advised to submit only one application form as multiple application forms will be subjected to rejection.

The final application form will be accepted only after successful payment of the fee and the form will be invalid if the fee has not been paid.

JEE Main 2021 application fee can be paid by the candidates using various modes of online payment such as Debit/Credit Cards, Net Banking, UPI, Online wallets(PayTM, Lazypay, PhonePe, PayU money etc). However, candidates can also pay the application fee using offline mode i.e. e-challan. The candidates are required to print a copy of the e-challan and deposit the challan with the required amount in any branch of State Bank of India.
Candidates must note that JEE Main 2021 Application Fee is non-refundable and once submitted will not be refunded in any circumstances. The application fees differ based on the category, gender, courses and papers, etc.
