RB
Revanshi Bhatia Posted On : September 16th, 2020
B.Tech Electrical Engineering, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad (2021)

Both MNNIT Allahabad and ENI at BITS Goa are highly ranked technology colleges offering amazing placement opportunities to their students. NIRF ranked BITS Goa at 17th in the University category, whereas MNNIT was ranked at 48 for B.Tech in India 2020.

MNNIT’s last year placement ranking has seen a rise in the pay packages and the best placement record of almost 97%. BITS Goa on the other hand holds a stellar placement record of 100% since its inception. But while selecting between electrical engineering at MNNIT Allahabad or ENI at BITS Goa one needs to consider certain facts such as:

Particulars

MNNIT Allahabad

BITS Goa

Fees

Rs. 6,55,000

Rs. 16,73,000

Entrance Criteria

10+2 in science with 75% & JEE Main

10+2 in science with 75% & BITSAT

Median Salary

Which is the better option - the Nagpur NIT for CSE or the IIT in Bhubaneswar for Electrical Engineering?

RC
Roopsha Chatterjee Posted On : August 14th, 2020
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore (2021)

IIT’s are the best engineering institutes of the country and IIT Bhubaneshwar ranks at 22 among the engineering colleges in India according to the NIRF Ranking of 2020. Since Electrical Engineering has been from the start of IIT Bhubaneswar, placements are great there. The curriculum of Electrical Engineering incorporates recent industry requirements. The placements for the early years were not that great but for the last 2 years, the situation is incrementing. In 2019 placement drive 86% of students from Electrical Engineering got placement and the average CTC offered at this IIT was 11.4 LPA. IIT’s have the best faculties in the country. The level of research work and the flexibility they provide is exceptional.

In 2019 the CSE department at NIT Nagpur had the highest number of job offers, 78. The average package was around 7 LPA which stands below IIT Bhubaneshwar.

The level of exposure and practical experience at IIT is exceptional and would help in developing extracurricular skills and potential development. So, between NIT Nagpur CSE and IIT Bhubaneswar EE, IIT Bhubaneswar EE is the better choice.

Which is better, IIT BHU for chemical or IIT Tirupati for electrical?

Sabeer Chalana Posted On : July 4th, 2023

IIT BHU and IIT Tirupati have their strengths and the choice depends upon your preferences.

  • IIT BHU- If you want a placement with a high package and it does not bother you whether you get placed in a core or non-core profile, IIT BHU Chemical is the right choice for you. The choice is also right for you if you can live in a crowded city and want a shared campus (IIT BHU shares its campus with Banaras Hindu University). Most people from the Chemical department go for non-core jobs since they offer better packages. IIT BHU also has a strong alumni base and the fame of the institution is a big highlight for students.

You can also join IIT BHU Chemical and try for a branch change. You will easily get ECE or EEE with some effort. In case you get stuck with Chemical, do not worry and go for non-core placements which are mostly open for all the branches.

Most placements at IIT BHU are in the non-core profiles.

  • IIT Tirupati- If you want to pursue Electrical Engineering, you want to end up in a core profile, and you are ready to settle down for a comparatively lower package, you should go for IIT Tirupati Electrical. It is a good option if you wish to become a notable alumnus of your institution and become part of a newly established and growing IIT. You will, however, not get access to an alumni network because IIT Tirupati is a very new institution (established in 2015). The campus has high-speed internet and is situated in the mountains. Sports facilities are also provided at IIT Tirupati.

Here are the course-fees & placement statistics for IIT BHU Chemical and IIT Tirupati Electrical-

Parameters

IIT BHU Chemical

IIT Tirupati Electrical

Course-fee (General)

INR 8,67,010

INR 11,87,824

Placement Percentage

86.43%

40 registered, 37 placed

Highest CTC

INR 1.15 CPA

-

Median CTC

INR 16.18 LPA

INR 13 LPA

Average CTC

INR 19.52 LPA

INR 14.10 LPA

You can thus choose between IIT BHU Chemical and IIT Tirupati Electrical based on your personal preference and after thoroughly considering all the pros and cons of your decision.

SS
Satyandra Sen Posted On : October 21st, 2020
Studied Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla (2017)

IGIT Sarang is one of the best government colleges in Orissa. It is also only one government college of Orissa that is eligible to submit an Institutional Development Proposal. The admission process for Electrical Engineering is based on the results of JEE Main and Orissa-JEE.

The NIRF ranking of VSSUT University is 119 all over India. Likewise in IGIT Sarang, the admission process for Production Engineering and Metallurgy is based on the results of JEE.

Tabulated below shows the difference among both institutions:

Particulars

IGIT Sarang

VSSUT Burla

Total course fee

2.89 lakhs

1.12 lakhs

Total seats available

120 seats

60 seats

Average salary

4 lakhs

3.6 lakhs

Admission process

  • The admission process is the same for all the courses. The application process is fully online.
  • Admissions are based on the results of JEE mains or OJEE valid rank followed by interviews and counseling.
  • With this students are also required to have at least 45% in 10+2 with required subjects(Physics and mathematics should be primary subjects).

  • The average salary offered to students is 4 lakhs and the highest salary package is up to 10 lakhs.

VSSUT Burla

  • Companies like Aricent, Ashok Leyland, Bosch Ltd, Cap Gemini, CSC, Cummins, HP, Jindal Steel, Maruti Suzuki, and so on visit campus every year.

IGIT Sarang

  • The infrastructure of the college is really good.
  • Classrooms are nice, the library is open to all, medical facilities and equipped labs are also available in college.

VSSUT Burla

  • The infrastructure and facilities of this university are really good. Air-conditioned classrooms, upgraded labs, medical facilities, sports facilities, gym, etc all available on campus.
  • The faculty is also well experienced.

Both the universities are good choices for the above courses. Both courses have the same admission process among universities. The placement rate is quite better for IGIT Sarang than VSSUT Burla but if we talk about which one is affordable and has good quality teaching then VSSUT should be the choice.
