Which is better, EE at DTU or ICE at NSIT?
There is no better branch between EE at DTU and ICE at NSIT. It's all about preferences and inclinations. To help you make an informed decision let's talk about both the branches individually
EE at DTU
- EE at DTU is core electrical engineering wherein you are taught concepts related to power, grids, electrical machines, etc.
- For placements, core companies like BHEL and companies in the energy field visit the campus.
ICE at NSIT
- This branch has Control Engineering concepts along with electrical, electronics, and computer engineering.ICE has very light coursework and it's easy to maintain a good CGPA.
- You also get enough time for your passions and extracurriculars.
- IT giants like Facebook, Google, etc. Don't allow ICE students to sit for placements.
- Core companies that recruit students of this branch include Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and others.
- Non-tech companies like BCG, Bain, and JPMC allow all students to sit for placements.
- NSIT has a larger batch size and thus the competition here is less than DTU for placements but it still it cannot match the brand value of DTU.
In all, both DTU and NSIT have similar opportunities and placements so with the right mindset you can do well at both colleges.
How should I prepare for IIT-JAM geology?
In the following, some important tips are listed that will be quite beneficial for taking preparation for IIT-JAM Geology.
- The first and foremost thing is to collect and go through the previous year’s questions. Most students avoid the subjective type questions, but it is important to make sure that the B.Sc level concept of the student is obvious.
- Analyze the topic, which is frequently asked. Presently, a 30% prediction from the nat section can be made. You will observe repetition in every section but the way of asking can be different.
- Go through the previous year’s GATE questions, but focus on the syllabus of B.Sc level.
- However, there are also some questions from M.Sc level, but these are rare. So, do not waste time practicing these questions, as these contribute only 5-7%. For these types of questions, you can practice previous year’s M.Sc level questions and can search for similar questions from CSIR NET, GATE, etc.
- For the last 3-4 years, the nat section questions are coming from the higher secondary syllabus. You should cover the topics like physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and mechanics, as all these have a usage in Geology.
- Besides, prepare topics including, waves, gravitational, coordination no., magnetism, thermodynamics, the periodic table, force and motion, ray optics, thermal, solid and fluid bodies properties, redox reaction, light radioactivity, Mole concept, electromagnetic radiation, equilibrium, general isolation, solid-state, chemical bonding, and atomic structure.
- Read a single topic at a time, specifically from the books covering most of the parts. It will give a better understanding of the concept of structural geology.
- Download and buy questions like Shakeel Ahmad, Azhar Hussain, and Ausuf Sayeed. It will assist in getting the topic-related idea and the type of questions.
- Make notes from the chapter that you find difficult.
Practise is essential. You will find a better understanding of the topic and the entire syllabus. It will be better if you practice from the diverse question sets, as it will clear your perspectives.
Can I enter VMMC just for a tour as I am a NEET aspirant?
Yes, you can definitely enter VMMC for a tour.
It is a government owned institution, so you can visit the campus and have a look at its facilities. You can also catch a glimpse of AIIMS across the road from the Terrace Garden. But some areas like the library may be restricted for outsiders. You’ll require permission to enter classrooms and dissection halls.
You’ll love the green and beautiful campus of VMMC. It is especially mesmerizing in the evenings.
What 's your view on the AI course offered by IIT Hyderabad, its cutoff, future scope, and course pressure?
IIT Hyderabad is the first institute in India to launch a BTech program on AI engineering. I think the credibility of a certain field can be judged by its cutoff and the cutoff of AI has been seen as giving an edge to CSE of IIT Hyderabad and other old IITs.

Which engineering college can I choose among these four: Dayanand Sagar, BMS IT, CMR IT, MVJ College of Engineering for an ECE/EEE branch?
As a student of B.Tech EEE at BMS IT, I can confidently say that my college is a good choice for this branch.
It is a core branch, and EEE is an old department of BMS IT. The faculty and placements are also good at our department. Moreover, BMS IT has seen year on year improvement in its ranking.
I can only speak for BMS IT. According to me this is a good college, especially for EEE.
Should I opt for IIIT Delhi or MNNIT Allahabad for a CSE M.Tech?
The Alumni network is the most important factor of placement statistics and MNNIT Allahabad has one of the best alumni networks.
Delhi provides you with nightlife whereas Allahabad does not. Allahabad is not a metropolitan city like Delhi. If you want these two things, MNNIT is not for you. But it will definitely provide you with great learning opportunities. You can enjoy yourself a lot with your friends, more than you expect. Hence, it does not become less enjoyable just because it lacks nightlife and the tag of a metropolitan city.

Both the options you have are quite promising as both Microsoft US and Samsung Korea are top companies in the IT sector. But personally, I find Microsoft US a preferable option to Samsung Korea. Here’s why
- The US is a better country to kickstart your career and offers more opportunities than Korea.
- Samsung Korea has a very challenging working environment and it may take a lot of time to adapt yourself to the culture of the country.
Had I been in your place, I would have gone for Microsoft without any second thoughts even if it offered less than Samsung Korea.
It’s difficult to comment on the amount of money you will be saving as I don’t know about your salary package. If it’s around USD 100,000 you’ll save enough.
What is the lowest cutoff for new IIM?
IIM cut-off or minimum CAT score percentile required by prospective students to be eligible for the WAT/PI round of IIMs. The IIM cut-offs vary from Category to category as well as Institute to Institute. The minimum CAT cut-off for IIMs for the General category is usually 95-100, and the cut-off for reserved category students is 85-95. Which is a better option, MDI Gurgaon or IIM Shillong?
MDI Gurgaon is a better option. It has a better location and offers good placement and return on investment. It is situated close to a major city. So, you will get better opportunities in terms of placements, internships, live projects, etc.
It has a great placement record. During MDI Gurgaon placements 2022, more than half of the batch received salary package of INR 25 LPA. The average CTC for the whole batch was INR 23 LPA.
What are the placements at Manipal Institute of Technology like?
