BCA from St. Joseph's College , Bengaluru (2020)

St. Joseph College has been ranked as an A++ from the NAAC. In the near future, the college is expected to have achieved “university status”. In accordance with this development in the status of the college, the admission procedure has been improved and modified. Thus, the competition is high, and securing admission at St. Joseph College has become challenging.

  • In order to become a part of St. Joseph College, Bangalore, you would have to apply for the BCA course.
  • To begin with the process, you would be required to visit their official website and fill the online application form without errors.
  • Choose the course you are willing to pursue from the given number of courses.
  • Corresponding to your chosen course you would be notified about your written/ entrance examination or P.I (personal interview).
  • Make sure to prepare yourself for these rounds as it is a deciding factor for your admission.
  • Following it is held an entrance exam on the scheduled date for which every aspirant who has filled the admission form needs to appear for.
  • The college does not keep students waiting for the results and updates it later on the same day of the exam.
  • On clearing the exam, you would be called in for the interview process the following day.
  • Once you have successfully cleared the above-mentioned processes you would be able to enroll as a student here within the given span of time.

The results announced are completely unbiased and solely based on merit. You may consult with other students who have been a part of this college if you are still hesitant about opting for it.

B.Tech. Metallurgy, Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi (2018)

IIT (BHU) Varanasi has maintained a stellar placement record over the years. Also in recent times, global MNCs have started to recognize Indian talents more and more. This is the reason behind the sudden influx in placement statistics for IIT BHU. Another reason is the student crowd of the college. Despite the poor infrastructure, IIT BHU still attracts brilliant students from all over the country.

The Training and Placement Office has a huge role to play behind the increased placement numbers too. The placement office work actively to invite recruiters and get best placement opportunities for the students.

What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at CCS University?

RS
Rahul Singhal Posted On : October 25th, 2021
B.C.A. Digital Marketing & Software Testing, Chaudhary Charan Singh University (2019)

My brother attended a CCS university-affiliated college. Here are his insights, which can be helpful for you.

  • You should attend your college lectures on a regular basis because internal marks are determined by your attendance and regularity. Furthermore, you should pay attention to the classes and other activities that your college organizes.
  • Don’t depend on the faculty for completing the syllabus. You will need to complete it on your own.
  • While solving the external examination, make sure that your content is Informative, not too descriptive, i.e. in points rather than a long paragraph. Most importantly, the content should be visible and understood, i.e. the representation should be well-structured.

If possible try to prepare for your research project from the first year. Otherwise, you will be burdened in the last semester.

I got ECE at RVCE Bangalore. Now I can get ECE branch at NIT Surathkal. Which is the better option?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : September 14th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

One of my friends is currently pursuing her final year Btech in ECE in NIT Surathkal and shared a few key points

  • Placements: The placement scenario for the ECE branch of both NIT Surathkal and RVCE is somewhat similar. Most companies like TI and Samsung visit both the colleges and offer similar packages. However, NIT students face intense competition due to relative grading so grabbing good packages is more challenging than at RVCE.
  • Brand : It cannot be denied that the NIT tag adds a lot of value to your resume and opens multiple doors of opportunities.
  • Faculty : The ECE department of NITK has one of the best faculties in comparison to any other departments. Most of them are highly experienced and you can do many projects under them. The course curriculum is also revised frequently.
  • Opportunities : RVCE is located in Bangalore and thus offers better off-campus opportunities than NIT Surathkal.

Ultimately, both colleges are equally good in their own way. It’s up to you to choose the right one for you!

Can Delhi University give year back to second year students?

UZ
Uzma Zarin Posted On : September 29th, 2021
B.A. Political Science,University of Delhi (2019)

Yes, it is completely possible. Especially, the students who have graduated after 2017 are from the CBCS batch. Earlier, they used to let students enter in the third year even if they failed in all the previous papers. This is not the case after 2017.

In order to avoid dropping a whole year, all you need to do is pass in 4 out of 8 papers. You have to pass with 50%. If you don’t, then you will be appearing for the exam as an ex-student and wasting a year since you need to clear those exams to earn your degree. However, getting back a maximum of 3 papers is still fine but not more than that.

Which one should I choose: MS by Research program or M Tech at IIIT Hyderabad?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : August 2nd, 2023

If your future goal is getting a high paying job, choose the M.Tech program at IIIT Hyderabad. The course fee is high but an average package of around INR 31 LPA is offered to M.Tech students. Thus, you will be able to easily cover your education expenses within a year of your job.

If you are really interested in Research, you should choose the MS by Research program. The average time for completing the MS program is 3 years, but depending upon your guide, you can also complete the program earlier than that. At present, the duration has even come down to 2.5 years.

MS students sit with M.Tech students during IIIT Hyderabad placements and get equal placement opportunities. However, as an MS student you will get so involved in research work that instead of going for a job you will probably end up doing Ph.D. If you are interested in CV/ML, its course structure and guidance at IIIT Hyderabad are top notch. The MS course is very flexible and you study subjects that are relevant for your research.

Overall, whether you go for MS by Research or M.Tech at IIIT Hyderabad is a matter of your personal goals.

Does IIT Hyderabad have the potential to grow at par with older IITs, if so, how long will it take, and what would be its ranking after a few years?

AB
Attri Banerjee Posted On : May 9th, 2023
Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad

Yes, IIT Hyderabad certainly has the potential to grow at par with older IITs. The following rankings prove it further

  • NIRF: IIT Hyderabad Overall ranking by NIRF is 14 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022 and it was 16 out of 200 colleges in India in 2021.
  • Outlook: IIT Hyderabad Overall ranking by Outlook is 9 out of 15 colleges in India in 2022
  • QS World University: IIT Hyderabad Overall ranking by QS World University is 581 out of 1400 colleges in International in 2023

The above rankings clearly tell that IIT Hyderabad is better than many old IITs and all new IITs. The only aspect IIT Hyderabad still lacks is infrastructure, which is because it’s still in the development stage.

However, it excels in all other aspects and it’s exactly why it has surpassed many colleges and has been growing at a fast pace.

  • IIT Hyderabad gives a primary focus on research and innovation.
  • Fractal Academics
  • Double Major for B.Tech students
  • The faculty-student ratio here is the best among all IITs around 1:13.
  • There are 14 departments covering the Engineering, Science, Liberal Arts, and Design Areas. A course can be taken from the Liberal Arts Department for crediting.
  • IIT Hyderabad along with top Indian institutes like IITM, CEWiT, IITD, IITK, IISC, and SAMEER is building the largest 5G testbed in the country.
  • IIT Hyderabad and Japan Collaboration: IIT Hyderabad has a very unique collaboration with Japanese universities and industries.
  • IITH has MOUs with at least 50 universities globally, most of them in Japan, the USA, Australia, Canada, Europe, and Taiwan.

There are many features that make it unique such as its excellent hostels, geographical location, etc. After a few years, IIT Hyderabad is expected to grow and be in a better situation.
