Srinagar is ranked 67th by NIRF in all engineering colleges category. Agartala, situated in the north-east is ranked 70th among engineering colleges by NIRF. JEE Mains is the qualifying exam for both these institutions. The fee structure is also similar and is around 1.40 lakhs as the first-year fees.

NIT Srinagar:

• NIT Srinagar placement cell has consistently managed to invite top companies to their placement drives every year.

• In the year 2019, more than 240 students from NIT Srinagar were placed in various companies

• The recruiters consisted of MNCs and domestic giants like Punj Lloyd, DRDO, Power Grid, Wipro, Kirloskar Oils, Tata Motors, NTPC, Patel Engineering, American Insurance, Tata Power, Mu Sigma, etc.

• CSE and IT branch had 100% placements while all other branches had approximately 70% placement on average.

• highest CTC package was INR 27 LPA and it was for an IT student. The average CTC package came at around INR 9.5 LPA.

NIT Agartala:

NIT Agartala conducts highly successful placement drives every year.

• 30+ major MNCs came for the placement drive last year.

• A total of 188 students got placed in the placement drive conducted in 2019. Other students opted for higher studies.

• The recruiters consisted of various multinational corporations and domestic heavy-weights like Vedanta, L&T Infotech, Infosys, Future Group, Axis Bank, ABB Limited, Ashok Leyland, Samsung, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, Mphasis, Karvy Group, Future Group, Oracle, Havells, etc.

• Infosys recruited the most number of students with 69 job offers.

• Almost 90% of students got placed last year with a 100% placement record in CSE & ECE branch.

• 13031. highest CTC package was INR 36 LPA and it was for an ECE student. The average CTC package came at around INR 5.5 LPA.

The placement records of both institutions are quite similar. Students are advised to research other factors as well and not just join based on placement stats of a college.

Nirma University (NU) situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat is a NAAC accredited ‘A’ grade private university. It has been ranked 131 for engineering by NIRF 2020. Nirma University provides a 4-year classroom program for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.

Admission:

The total course fee for BTech mechanical engineering at Nirma University is 7.24 Lakh. The student intake for mechanical engineering is 120.

• The required eligibility is 45% in the 12th board from the Science stream.

• Admission to the BTech programs is through GUJCET or JEE Mains.

• In 2019 the required cutoff for Mechanical was 1031 (GUJCET).

Placements:

Students are guided through the entire process of placements by a well-developed Corporate Relations Cell. The university organizes pre-placement talks and activities to make the students ready for the placement drive.

It facilitates interaction between the students and potential employers to provide them with exceptional career prospects. The institution has a great placement record with high placement statistics.

• The average salary package offered is 5.7 LPA.

• The highest salary package offered in the mechanical branch is 12 LPA in core companies like RIL, Tata, Ford, L&T, etc.

• Median Salary 4.1 LPA has been offered for the Mechanical department.

• About 60% of the students from the last batch got placements.

Apart from core-companies students also get placed in many non-core ones. The topmost recruiters that come for the placements are Accenture, CMC, Cognizant, Deloitte Consulting, Eicher Motors, gammon, Hewlett Packard, IBM, ICICI, iFlex, Infosys, Intel, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Philips India, Reliance, Sasken Communications, SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, Siemens, SYNTEL, Vodafone, Wipro.

So, the placement records for the Mechanical branch are quite satisfactory at Nirma University but the possibility of one getting placed right away in the campus depends upon the academic potential of the student.

No, not at all. NITIE is one of the most reputed colleges in India. In fact, NITIE is a brand of its own. It is basically a government institute that falls directly under the MHRD. It has been standing tall and strong for the past 54 years.

• NITIE has a 100% placement rate. 
• The highest package offered is 44 LPA while the average package offered is 20.85 LPA. 
• Some of the major companies like Amazon, Flipkart, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK), Abbott Healthcare Pvt Ltd, Amway, Google, Vodafone, Nestle, etc come for final placements.
