No, one of my friends failed to get placed during campus placements at IIT Dhanbad. He got shortlisted for an interview in L&T after appearing for a written test. However, he did not attend the interview because he was already selected for off-campus placement for the role of AE(Technical) in EESL. It’s a PSU under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
Others were also successfully placed through off-campus placement. Out of 20 Gate students, 18 are placed in PSU, State, and Central Government sectors. Out of 20 Non-Gate students 15 students are placed in Coaching institutes, core private sector, private Engineering colleges, and Software companies through campus placements.
Students of IIT Dhanbad are able to prepare better for GATE, PSU, and CAT because of low academic pressure.
Most Government, as well as Private companies, prefer BTech graduates to MTech or MS graduates. One needs an MTech degree only if one wants to enter academia or research. The reason they prefer a fresher is that they consider them flexible and thus sponsor them for higher study in their field of requirement.
M.Tech degree is not required to secure a good job and I will recommend you start preparing for GATE instead and target a PSU job. The written tests and interviews during the process of GATE Preparation will increase your chances of selection in the future.
The placement situation at UIET has steadily improved as the alumni do great work. Although placement depends a lot on your efforts. You will get to learn a lot from your seniors at the institute. Networking with seniors also helps in placements. The colleges encourage open-source culture and endorse python. There are many communities on campus that you can join to brush up on your skills.
Here are the UIET Chandigarh 2021 placements highlights.
Particulars | Placement Statistics |
Average Package | INR. 6.45 LPA |
Highest Package | INR. 31 LPA |
Top Paying Recruiters | Google and Amazon |
Considering all the above-mentioned topics, we can say there are no shortages of placements and you need not worry about it.
The top-paying companies, generally belonging amongst the regular recruiters, are the multinational banks, usually offering job roles like investment banking (IB). Alongside that, the roles in Financial Marketing (FM), also pay well, considering the base destination is overseas. Now, this is in terms of direct conversion and not PPP.
There are several of these firms which are as follows:
In addition to the aforementioned companies, there are various other recruiters, mostly scattered in the private equity arena (and a few handfuls in venture capital) who often choose to recruit rather sporadically and are common and pay well. Carlyle, Blackstone, Apollo are to name a few of them.
Nonetheless, the recruiters of the companies listed above usually pay typically anywhere between 35 to 60 LPA as the base salary. Astonishingly, the bonus is often over and above this amount.
The placements for VLSI at MNIT Jaipur aren’t very good, to be honest. As a whole, the college is great, offering top-notch education and placement opportunities. The college is known for its highly experienced professors, a vast amount of resources in the library, and a great research culture. All these factors combined make it a good choice for an MTech program. However, if you are only keen to get placed in the VLSI domain, you will have to reconsider your choices. In that case, the best options would be IITs or NITs.
One of my friends was pursuing MTech in VLSI from MNIT Jaipur and told me that she got the opportunity to go to an internship program and finally landed a decent job in the VLSI industry thanks to the consistent guidance he received from his professor.
So, it can be concluded that getting direct VLSI placements is challenging but with the right motivation and planning you might land a decent job.
Yes, IIT Delhi MTech Machine Design students do get placed with decent roles and packages. In fact, after IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi is the most preferred IIT for students mailing to get enrolled in the MTech program. The 2 main reasons for this are listed below:
MTech Program offered by the Mechanical Department of IIT Delhi has a decent placement scenario with a placement percentage of around 70-80%. Design stream has the best placements in the entire department in terms of the average package as well as placement percentage. Mainly roles in R&D and a few managerial roles are offered.

When it comes to placement in JBIMS for Marketing students, you can expect a good number of offers from big companies in various sectors. Around 40% of the offers are made by companies in the Pharma and FMCG sectors, including big names like HUL, P&G, Nestle, Britannia, Mars, Abbott, Cipla, and Sandi. The Telecom sector also offers roles in sales and marketing, with companies like Vodafone and Idea having a strong relationship with JBIMS due to a strong alumni presence.
In the Technology sector, firms like Google, IBM, Hexaware, and Infosys offer profiles in IT consulting and international and Indian sales. The Automobile industry also offers roles in sales, with companies like Tata Motors, Hero Motocross, and Baja Auto contributing around 8-10%. Conglomerates like RIL, Raymond, Tata Steel, Samsung, and L&T offer around 10% of the roles for marketing students.
It is important to note that around 50% of the total batch gets placed before the final placement, which is called a Pre Placement Offer. Hence, performing well in your summer placements is crucial.
The average salary for JBIMS Marketing students increased by more than 20% as compared to the previous year, reaching INR 27.63 LPA in 2022. The median CTC was INR 26.48 LPA, and the highest salary offered was INR 42 LPA. During the placement drive, consulting companies played a dominant role, with major recruiters including Deloitte, EY, PwC, Accenture, Infosys, KPMG, and many more.
Civil is about learning and getting skills rather than getting placed with good packages. India is in desperate need of qualified civil engineers. Not every Civil Engineering graduate is skilled enough and yet is employed as an engineer leading to failure of structure and accidents. So your primary goal is to be knowledgeable and skilled rather than running after placements. There is also a huge scope of research outside India. Here are the placement statistics of the Civil Engineering branch of NIT Surathkal
Placement Percentage |
74.44% |
Median CTC |
INR 12 LPA |
Ultimately, bear in mind that you won’t be earning much initially as a civil engineer but with the passage of time you will earn a lot in terms of money and respect both.
