Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is based on case-based teaching pedagogy. The faculty are very experienced and most of them have completed their PhDs from the old IIMs or the IITs. The college currently has 43 faculty and the students intake for each year is around 410, making the faculty: student ratio 1:10. The first year consists of all the mandatory subjects which are common for all the students, but in the second year, students get to choose the specialization based on their CGPA. The exams are always conducted as per the schedule and the evaluation and paper are very strict.
Internships Opportunities :
The Internship opportunities offered on the campus are very diverse in nature. Internships are offered from various domains ranging from Marketing, Finance, Consulting, Analytics, HR, etc. The roles offered are also very diverse. More than 100 companies visit the campus for summer Internships and the process usually starts in the month of August. As my internship is not yet completed, nothing can be mentioned regarding the projects and the outcomes.
Placement Experience :
The placements at the college are pretty decent. More than 100 companies visit the campus. The placements usually start in the month of august and end after all the students get placed. The placement team takes care of the placements and makes them hassle-free. The average stipend for the summer internships is around 1.6 lakhs for 2 months and for the final placements, the average CTC is around 17 lakhs per annum. Due to the placement team rules the name of the companies visiting the campus cannot be disclosed. Further details regarding the placements can be verified on the placement brochure available on the website of the college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is 18 lakhs for 2 years. The fees include fees for Courses, Hostels, Mess, Books, and exam fees. The campus has a bank that provides loans to students without any collateral. The fee hike policy is unknown, the PGPM office takes care of the fee hike. Apart from the loan, the PGPM office keeps floating several scholarship emails to the students based on their eligibility. Apart from this, even the toppers of the batch of the first year will also receive a certain amount as a scholarship.
Campus Life :
Campus life is very exciting yet stressful due to the assignments and the projects. Campus life became exciting mainly because of the clubs and committees of the college. The college consists of 12 clubs and 13 committees. The annual fest of the college Dhruva is usually conducted in the last month of January. The college also conducts the Leadership Conclave and the Business Conclave Daksha and Nishtha respectively. IIM Trichy has the best Learning Resource Center in the country. It has all the applications, software, books, and journals needed for the students. The classrooms are designed based on the Harvard model and have all the modern amenities from ACs to projectors. The campus also has sports facilities for all sports and a swimming pool with a jacuzzi.
Interview Experience :
Due to the pandemic, the Group Discussion and Written Ability Test weren't conducted. The Personal Interviews were more like stress Interviews. The personal Interviews usually cover topics on various aspects starting from the candidate's CV and covering topics from the candidate's Undergraduate, Current Affairs, and Questions related to the hobbies and interests of the candidate. I prepared for more than a month for this round focusing more on the points mentioned in the CV and current affairs.
