Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Information Technology) From BIT Mesra, Ranchi

Candidates must hold EITHER

a) B.E. / B.Tech in any branch of Engineering or B. Arch with first class or minimum 55% marks on average (50% for SC/ST), 

OR 

b) Masters degree with 55% (50% for SC/ST), [after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in 10+2+3 system from a recognized University] in Physics / Mathematics / Statistics /Electronics /Computer Science / Computer Applications / Geo-Informatics / GIS / Remote Sensing / Information Science / Geography / Geology / Geophysics / Environmental Science / Atmospheric Sciences / Botany / Climatology / Chemistry / Disaster Management / Agriculture / Forestry / Meteorology / Oceanography / Soil Science / Town Planning / Zoology / Fisheries / allied disciplines

c) Candidates must have a stereoscopic vision and normal color vision

Candidates who fulfill the above requirements may apply for the course. Shortlisted non-GATE candidates will have to appear for a written examination followed by an interview.

Shortlisted GATE candidates are exempted from written examinations and will have to appear only for interviews.

Note: Candidates admitted to M.Tech programs with valid GATE scores will be considered to receive scholarships only if approved and the amount released by the funding agency.

GATE qualified candidates -  Based on academic record and GATE score

• Merit list is prepared on the basis of 80% weightage to GATE Score and
• 20% weightage to Class 10, 12 and graduation / Postgraduation marks  

Non-GATE candidates -  Based on academic record and Entrance Test

• Merit list is prepared on the basis of 80% weightage to marks obtained in Entrance Test and
• 20% weightage to Class 10, 12 and graduation / Postgraduation marks
