BIT Mesra Admission 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Cutoff, Dates, Application Process

BIT Mesra offers B.Tech, B.E, and B.Arch courses in various specializations, namely - B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Production Engineering, Civil Engineering and B.E in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (Plastic and Polymer), and Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Admissions into the courses are done on the basis of JEE Main cutoff and marks obtained in class 10th and 12th. Seat allocation is done as per the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) norms.

BIT Mesra BTech Cutoff 2023

BIT Mesra B.E/ BTech/ B.Arch Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission in B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch at BIT Mesra, a candidate should fulfill the minimum requirements. This includes the following:

• Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and a minimum aggregate of 60%.
• Must have scored a minimum rank in JEE Main exam as per the institute requirements.

BIT Mesra B.E/ BTech/ B.Arch Selection Criteria

The selection at the BIT Mesra is solely based on the candidate’s JEE Main cutoff and the marks obtained in the class 10th and 12th. Counseling for the seats is done as per the JoSAA/CSAB norms. 

For NRI/FS candidates, selection will be based on the marks obtained in Class 12 or equivalent.

BIT Mesra offers a 4 years BHMCT program at the UG level. The institute charges INR 8.03 lakhs for the 8 semesters of its BHMCT program. With a total of 30 seats, the BIT Mesra BHMCT program is offered in full-time mode at the Mesra campus only. Given below are the basic eligibility and admission details regarding the BHMCT program.

BIT Mesra Hotel Management (BHMCT) Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent with English as a compulsory subject and a minimum aggregate of 50%
• Students appearing for the 12th exams may also apply for this course. They need to produce their class 12th mark sheet at the time of entrance test and interview and should have scored the required percentage.
• Only candidates who are born on or after 1st October 1996 can apply for this.

BIT Mesra Hotel Management (BHMCT) Selection Criteria

The selection for the BIT Mesra Hotel Management (BHMCT) is done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the interview conducted by the institute. The selection procedure is also based on the minimum age and academic requirements fixed by the institute.

BIT Mesra Hotel Management (BHMCT) Application Process

BIT Mesra B.Pharm Selection Criteria

Selections for the BIT Mesra B.Pharm program are done on the basis of the Candidate’s JEE Main or NEET-UG scores. 

• 60% weightage to JEE (Main) / National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) Scores.
• 40% weightage to marks in Class 12 / equivalent qualifying examination.
• Candidates must meet the age criteria and other minimum academic requirements.

Admissions to BIT Mesra M.E/M.Tech programs are done on the basis of GATE scores fixed by the institute. To be eligible for admission at BIT Mesra, a candidate must fulfill the following:

BIT Mesra M.E/M.Tech Eligibility Criteria 

• B.E/B.Tech/AMIE/MCA degree in the appropriate discipline for the respective year specialization and a minimum aggregate of 50%.
• Candidates must be GATE 2020 / GATE 2021 / GATE 2022 qualified.
• Candidates who have not cleared the GATE exam can also apply here. However, their application would be given second preference. The institute considers applications from GATE-qualified students first and only once that is completed, will they consider applications from Non- GATE students.
• Candidates who are in the final year of their Graduation may also apply for admission.
• Candidates qualified through correspondence or distance learning are eligible only if the programs are recognized by AICTE-UGC-DEC, and have a minimum aggregate of 55%.

BIT Mesra M.E/M.Tech Selection Criteria

The selection of a candidate is totally dependent on the scores in GATE 2020 / GATE 2021 / GATE 2022 and academic performance in graduation. 

• 80% weightage to GATE scores.
• 20% weightage to academic performance.

Selection of the Non-GATE candidates is subject to the availability of the seats. 

BIT Mesra M.E/M.Tech Application Process

Note - For applying to two or more programs such as M.Tech. (EE), M.Tech. (ECE), M.Tech. (CSE) etc, use a separate application form for each course.

BIT Mesra offers an MBA program in its main campus Mesra and off campuses, namely - Allahabad, Kolkata, Lalpur, and Noida. Admissions into BIT Mesra MBA are done on the basis of the scores in CAT / MAT/ XAT/ CMAT followed by a GD & PI round. BIT Mesra MBA Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute with a minimum aggregate of 50%.

BIT Mesra MBA Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates is based on the CAT /MAT/XAT/CMAT scores/ percentile fixed by the institute. Candidates will have to appear for a Group discussion round conducted by the institute. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview for which the institute will send an intimation via email. Selected candidates will be called for further admission process and to pay the admission fee.

BIT Mesra offers 2 years of PG courses such as M.Sc, MCA, M.UP, M.Pharm, and a 5 years Integrated MSc (iMSc) degrees across a variety of specialisations.

Admissions into the BIT Mesra M.Sc program are done on the basis of JAM/CUCET scores. 80% weightage would be given to JAM/CUCET marks and 20% to the academic performance. 

For admission into the M.UP program at BIT Mesra, a candidate must have a B.E/B.Tech/AMIE/MCA degree with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of GATE scores fixed by the institute. 80% weightage would be given to GATE scores and 20% to academic performance.

The minimum eligibility to take admission at BIT Mesra M.Pharm program is that candidates must have a degree in B.Pharm. Selection of the candidate is done on the basis of marks obtained in the GPAT exam. 80% weightage would be given to GPAT scores and 20% to academic performance.

For admission in MCA, a candidate must have a degree in BCA. Selection of the candidate is done on the basis of entrance test and interview conducted by the institute.

BIT Mesra offers a Ph.D. program in fifteen specializations. Students can pursue the Ph.D. program from BIT Mesra as a full-time as well as a part-time course. For admission at BIT Mesra, a candidate must fulfill the following:

BIT Mesra Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Must have completed M.Tech. / M.E. / M.Sc. (Engg.) / M.Arch. / M.Pharm. / M.Plan./M.Sc./ MCA / MBA or equivalent Degree with a minimum marks of 60% or a CGPA of 6.0.
• Candidates are also eligible for admission in Ph.D. at BIT Mesra who have a B.Tech./B.E./B.Sc. (Engg.)/B.Pharm/B.Arch./B.Plan. or equivalent Degree in relevant branch from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 80% marks or 8.0 CGPA and GATE/GPAT qualified with a minimum score of 80 percentile.
• Minimum two years of professional work experience for sponsored candidates. In this case, candidates should have valid sponsorship of at least three years.

BIT Mesra Ph.D. Selection Process

The selection of candidates is done on the basis of GATE/GPAT scores/percentile set by the institute. Academic performance will also be considered at the time of selection. Candidates will have to appear for the entrance test conducted by the institute. Candidates who qualify for the entrance exam will be called for a personal interview which is conducted by the institute. Selected candidates will be called for further admission process and to pay the admission fee.
