Yes, irrespective of the branch, choosing IIT Delhi will always prove to be beneficial for you. IIT Delhi has ties with many big firms that visit the campus for placements and offer great packages irrespective of your branch. One needs to be proficient in DSA and other computer science core subjects such as OOPS, OS, DBMS, and Computer Networks. A good grasp of these will fetch you a high-paying job no matter which branch you belong to in IIT Delhi.
Although most companies that visit IIT Delhi also visit NIT, your IIT tag will always fetch you extra benefits and no one can deny that. For instance, the same role offered to an IITiand will have more salary than that offered to a non-IITian.You can easily switch roles and fields given the brand name of the institute you are associated with. IITians even have more opportunities for higher studies in Foreign countries than non-IITians.
IITians especially from Mumbai or Delhi are always given preference over non-IITians hence it is advisable to go for IIT Delhi in any branch.
There are two sides to every coin. Similarly, there are many reasons why one must choose IIT Delhi over IIT Mumbai and vice versa. To make it further understandable, I have listed some common pros and cons of IIT Delhi
Pros
Cons
I leave it to you to weigh the pros and cons accordingly and make an informed decision.
Do you think getting admission to the most coveted branch will also give access to the most coveted housing facilities? Well, you are wrong, inside IIT your rank has no value. You will be treated like any other student with equal amenities at your disposal.
At IIT Delhi, every student is allotted a room randomly without any discrimination. First-year students usually get 2-seater or 3-seater rooms depending on the hostel they are assigned to.
The single rooms you were asking for are usually allotted in the last year but some lucky students get a single room from the 3rd year in a new hostel like Girnar or Udaigiri. But regardless, your hostel will become your new home. Irrespective of the kind of rooms you are allotted, you get adapted to them and make splendid memories and new friends.
Both programs are equally good in their respective fields and so are the institutions offering the programs. It’s important to consider what you expect from the program and what you plan to achieve after graduation to make the right choice.
My sister was in a similar dilemma as yours and eventually, she opted for MCA from IIT Delhi. This program has many courses similar to CS but the only problem is, the pedagogy adopted has a more theoretical approach than practical. Moreover, at some point, you will start questioning the parity of the faculty and will have to resort to self-study.
But here is the bright side, most companies coming for CS placements consider MCA students too, and offer decent roles.
Although I am not well aware of the situation in Roorkee, I can guarantee a true coding lover will prefer CS to MCA any day.
Never target a fixed score if you are planning to clear JEE because the level of difficulty of the exam varies every year. The closing rank of an OBC candidate is 340 for the CSE branch at IIT Delhi. So, on a rough estimate, a score of around 230 might get you into CSE as an OBC student. However, you wouldn’t limit your capabilities to your branch but give your best.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will soon release the JEE Advanced 2023 cutoff for IIT Delhi. The authorities will also consider various factors for determining the IIT Delhi cutoff for JEE Advanced 2023 like the number of applicants, number of seats, previous year cutoff trends, etc.
You can refer to the given tables to know about the previous year's IIT Delhi JEE Advanced cutoff.

IIT Delhi is one of the top engineering institutes in India and is known for its Computer Science and Engineering program. According to various rankings, it is considered to be one of the best in the country.
Apart from Delhi, CS department of these institutes is also very good and reputed
If you are not sure which major to choose between computer science and any other program, and are willing to put in the same effort for either of the programs, then computer science can be a great option to consider.
Computer science is a vast field that deals with the study of computers, software, and computational systems. It is a fascinating area that allows you to discover interesting things about how information technology is powering the world. Computer science is a rapidly evolving field, and as a student, you will have the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements and trends in the industry.
However, before making a decision, it is important to figure out if you have a genuine interest in either of the programs. You can read a few blogs and articles about computer science and any other program you are considering to find out which one sounds more interesting to you. It can also be helpful to talk to a few IIT pass-outs from both of these majors and observe their career growth.
If you still find it difficult to choose, taking a blind leap of faith and studying computer science can be a great decision. Computer science is a versatile field, and a degree in this area can open doors to various job opportunities in the IT industry. The demand for computer science professionals is high, and it is a field that promises a good salary, job security, and career growth.
Overall, the choice between computer science and any other program ultimately depends on your interests, career aspirations, and personal goals. If you have a genuine interest in computer science and are willing to put in the effort, then it can be a great choice to pursue.
Both IIT Delhi and BITS Pilani are esteemed institutions with dynamic programs in electrical engineering and computer science, respectively. However, the decision of which program to choose depends on your personal interests and career goals. But one can consider the following points while make the decision
BITS is somewhere near the level of IIT Delhi but its overall campus and opportunities are yet to reach its level.
Irrespective of whichever Institute you go for, CSE is the most demanded branch today and has the best pay scale and job prospects. So, if it’s placements you are after, then BITS Pilani CSE is the right choice for you.
However, if you want to become an entrepreneur then Delhi being the capital is the absolute best place for you. Choosing IIT Delhi on the pretext of learning coding in the last year is a wrong mindset and at the end of the day, you will find yourself with little exposure and knowledge than those who learned coding for 4 years.
Make a well-informed decision considering the pros and cons of both institutes and courses.
