I have friends in both institutes and from what I have heard, the IIIT Delhi faculty is quite arrogant and has no interest in teaching. The professors at IIT Delhi were very approachable during internships and expressed their willingness to work with the students and help them find their thought processes. On the other hand, IIIT Delhi professors would mock you if you were unable to answer a particular question.
A friend shared an incident at IIT Delhi when one of the professors committed an unintentional mistake and retook his interview to apologize. Your Ph.D. depends a lot on the kind of professors you work under and I will never recommend you to do a Ph.D. under such arrogant professors
The answer to these types of questions is prone to subjectivity. All the professors in IIT Delhi are highly qualified and well-experienced in their respective fields. Which makes it difficult to mansion the best professor at IIT Delhi. Mentioned below are a few professors who are popular among the students.
Prof. Ambuj Sagar- He never imposes his own view on the students and lets you think for yourself and make your own conclusions so that you are not left with any doubts.
Professor Vijayraghavan M. Chariar- He teaches Technological Alternatives for Rural Development. His unique way of teaching makes you grow as a person and widen your perspective. He believes in immersive experimental learning and organizes day trips during class timings so that his students can learn from real-life experiences. He is also an entrepreneur, having managed to bring about his own start-up Ekam Eco Solutions, where he promotes sustainable solutions to many different environmental problems.
Professor Paresh Choksi- He is among one of the brilliant minds in the Chemical Engineering department. Students thoroughly enjoy his course on Fluid Mechanics for his methodical and organized way of teaching.
Professor Anupam Sukla- He has a unique approach towards teaching which is focused in maximizing the learning experience of the students.
Professor M R Ravi- His course on Human Values and technology is completely discussion-based. For students, his course becomes a journey of self-discovery.
There are also many other professors who are worth mentioning, but the list is quite long.
