IIT Delhi M.Sc Chemistry: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Admission to the MSc Chemistry program at IIT Delhi is through the IIT-JAM exam, with applications open from mid-September to mid-October. The entrance exam takes place on the second Sunday of February, and results are announced a month later. The course spans four semesters with a mix of quizzes and exams. Faculty members, noted for their supportive nature, conduct weekly sessions to aid students in research. Tuition is Rs. 5,000 per semester, with total fees of Rs.

18,000 per semester excluding hostel and mess expenses. Hostel residents pay Rs. 3,30,000 for the entire program, while day scholars pay Rs. 74,000. SC/ST students benefit from reduced fees. Merit-cum-means scholarships waive tuition and offer Rs. 1000 monthly for eligible students. Placement opportunities for MSc Chemistry are limited; however, engineering students have an 85-90% success rate. The average placement package is 6-8 LPA, with a maximum of 24 LPA. Internships are beneficial, with 40-50% of students placed in institutions like IISc Bangalore and DRDO.

Eligibility for placements requires a minimum CGPA of 7.5, starting from the fourth semester.
