Master of Arts [MA] (Economics) From BHU, Varanasi

Eligibility –

The candidates seeking admission to M.A. (in Economics) course at BHU must satisfy the below-mentioned criteria - 

• The candidates must have passed B.A. under the 10+2+3 pattern with minimum aggregate marks of 50% from a recognized university. The aggregate marks must include all the subjects studied at the B.A. level except those in which only pass marks are required and do not contribute to the final degree mark-sheet.
• The candidates must have studied Economics subject in all three years at the undergraduate level.

Selection Criteria – 

The candidates are admitted to the M.A. (in Economics) course at BHU based on the criteria mentioned below - 

• The admissions are merit-based and the merit list is prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance examination.
• 15% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates and 7.5% of seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribe candidates. 27% remain reserved for OBC candidates and 10 % of seats are reserved for the Economically Weaker Section. 5% of seats are reserved for Physically Disabled candidates.
• The reservations are subjected only if the candidates have appeared for the entrance examination.
• There are supplementary seats for BHU Employee Wards and few seats are also subjected for the sports quota candidates and management quota candidates.
