Course Details

BHU M.Ed admission 2024 will be based on scores obtained in the CUET PG examination followed by counselling conducted by the university. CUET PG 2024 registrations are open now and the last date to apply has been extended to February 07, 2024. Interested candidates can register online on the official website @pgcuet.samarth.ac.in. BHU M.Ed Eligibility Criteria 

Since BHU offers both M.Ed and M.Ed in Special Education, their eligibility criteria varies but the selection process is common. The details are elaborated below:

M.Ed:

  • Graduate under at least 10+2+3 pattern plus B.Ed. / B.Ed.(Spl.) / B.El.Ed / D.El.Ed securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in B.Ed./B.Ed. (Spl.) 

                                                                                                    OR 

  • Any Postgraduate under 10+2+3 pattern plus B.Ed./B.Ed.(Spl.) securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in B.Ed./B.Ed.(Spl.).

M.Ed (Special Education):

  • Graduate under at least 10+2+3 pattern plus B.Ed.(Spl.) in V.I. (Visual Impairment)/B.Ed. with at least One Year Diploma in Special Education (V.I.) from recognized institution with 50% marks in B.Ed. (Special) (V.I.)/B.Ed. 

                                                                                                                                                OR

  • Any Postgraduate Degree plus B.Ed. (Special in V.I./B/Ed. With at least One Year Diploma in Special Education (V.I.) from recognized institution with 50% marks in B.Ed. (Special) (V.I.)/B.Ed.

BHU M.Ed Admission Criteria 

Admission to all M.Ed will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG) conducted by NTA. Candidates must clear the CUET PG exam in order to get admission to M.Ed at BHU. The final selection will be based on the merit list released by the university on the basis of CUET PG marks followed by counselling.

BHU M.Ed Entrance Exam Pattern

BHU is accepting CUET PG scores for admission to M.Sc programs. The entrance exam will be conducted as a computer-based test mode. The exam will be conducted for 2 hours in two shifts. CUET PG Question Paper consists of 100 questions divided into two parts i.e. Part A for General papers and Part B for Domain knowledge. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer.

BHU M.Ed Course Details 

  • The M.Ed. & M.Ed. (Special Education) programme shall be of one year duration divided into two semesters.
  •  A student is required to offer compulsory courses of 42 credits in two semesters. 
  • The total intake for BHU M.Ed admission is 166 seats and M.Ed Spl Education is 15 seats.
  • While 15% seats are reserved for international applicants as well.

BHU M.Ed Examination System

  • Each theory/ practical/ seminar/ field work/project/ dissertation course shall be of 100 marks. 
  • For evaluation, the overall structure of the distribution of marks in a course shall be such that: 
    • 30 marks are allotted to various assessments during the semester. 
    • While 70 marks shall be allotted for the end semester examinations.

BHU M.Ed Dissertation

Candidates enrolled for BHU M.Ed course will be required to submit the Dissertation at least two weeks before the commencement of the second Semester Examination. The candidate shall be required to secure at least 50% marks in the Dissertation to pass the Examination.
