Syllabus is excellent and lots of options for course work. Courses at ECE are more math oriented though. If you want to learn software sides of ML, AI etc., CS department should be better choice (you can also take CS courses).
It is nearly 36000$ per year, but most graduate students get assistantships and tuition waivers.
I enjoyed the course curriculum and academics. However, it was often difficult to get help and professors are very slow at grading. I enjoyed being able to use a message board system though to ask my TAs questions about the class.
I chose University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign because it has a very good computer science program and a lot of resources. The professors are very impressive and a lot of research is done at the school.
Since University of Illinois is a really big school, specialized instruction is rare and often courses are very fast paced. It is possible to do well in classes and career, however the student does have to make the extra effort of reaching out to professors and being diligent with job searching.
It was a great engineering school and a change in environment
My course syllabus was typically accurate and did not deviate from our in class learning, most of my courses were in economics and some statistics and did not provide any industry or research exposure
At the time when I was a psychology major, the university of Illinois had an amazing post graduate program for masters in psychology that would benefit my long term career goals as well as being close to home and a reputable big ten university in the Midwest of the United States
It's very rigorous but includes a lot of skill development relevant to both research and industry.
39000 USD
Very updated and relevant in current times.
57,000 USD - International Student tuition per year
The curriculum is tough but you can get through it. This university is prestigious and the material must push its students. Not unbearable though. I had some tough classes so far but I find that the teachers are there to help.
I'm not sure about this section if the quiz. My parents are paying for my college tuition so I am not heavily involved in the finance part of U of I. I do know you have to pay for insurance and some other bus fees and stuff like that. It?s a lot of money but I guess not too overwhelming.
I love the classes that I'm taking right now, I am learning a lot without being too stressed. Some classes are known as weed out classes, but they are not that hard if you put in some effort and show up to class.
Every cost to you is basically sent out in a single bill, with many different small charges that add up to the total. Everything is at least labeled so you know you are not getting charged wrongfully.
The course curriculum all in all is intense but manageable. Because there is a high standard and because the school is represented in an honorable manner, the workload is intense so that students are prepared to apply their skills in the real world.
Along with the tuition itself, there are dorm fees that are required by a freshman. Additionally, there is a health fee for individuals who do not have health insurance. And although different by each class there are textbook fees. And finally, a transportation fee that allows students to use a public bus.
