Lady Irwin College is a women’s college, affiliated to Delhi University and approved by UGC. It provides courses in Home Science under UG and PG curriculums. Also, few doctoral programmes are offered under 5 departments of Home Science. Other programmes of the college include a Postgraduate Diploma and a B.Ed course.
Admission to UG courses is based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) followed by e-counseling. Candidates seeking admission to PG courses are required to appear for the CUET PG.

Lady Irwin College was founded in 1932 as a constituent college for women in the University of Delhi. The college has NAAC Grade ‘A+’ accreditation and has been ranked 22nd in the National level by NIRF 2023. The faculty team of the college uses scholastic approaches and course structures to maintain high standards of education. The college offers an internationally competitive curriculum to promote talent and foster creativity among students.
Several basic facilities are provided by Lady Irwin College for the betterment of students, like, hostel accomodation, library, sports, horticulture project, computer resource center, canteen, medical helpdesk and lot more. Lady Irwin College admission process is completely online. Candidates seeking admission are required to apply online on the official website. Admission to UG courses is done on the basis of CUET scores followed by e-counseling. Candidates need to pass their 10th and 12th class with 40 percent marks in total to be eligible for UG courses provided. The program-specific eligibilities vary from course to course.
The marks obtained by the candidate in CUET will be considered for computing the total marks according to the Program-Specific combinations of subjects for deciding merit and granting admissions in the undergraduate programs. Merit will be based only on the ‘combination of subjects in which a candidate has appeared in CUET as mentioned in the respective Program-Specific Eligibility.
PG admissions are done through CUET PG. There total 75 programs for PG courses which is been provided by Delhi University. As per the DU admission policy, 50% of seats will be reserved for DU students, while admission to the 50% seats will be provided through CUET PG. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for PG courses through the CUET PG entrance exam.
