JEE Main 2020 morning session, as well as evening sessions, will be conducted on January 6 – January 11, 2020 . The exam will be conducted in computer-based mode. NTA will release the official answer key on April 14, 2020 at jeemain.nic.in.
April 9: Morning Shift Analysis (2019)
- Chemistry section was the easiest one containing questions directly from class 11 and 12 NCERT books
- Overall the difficulty level of the paper was moderate as per the majority of students

- In Physics, all questions were easy and straightforward.

- Chemistry was the easiest papers. All three sections of Chemistry – Physical, Organic and Inorganic carried equal weightage.
- Result for JEE Main 2020 will be announced by NTA on April 30, 2020 (Tentative).

How to Download JEE Main Answer Key?
In order to access JEE Main Answer Key, candidates have to visit the website and follow the steps:
- Visit the official website i.e. jeemain.nic.in.
- Click on the link “JEE Main 2020 Answer Key”
- Enter your Application number, Roll Number and Date of Birth
- Enter the provided Captcha and submit it.
How to Challenge JEE Main 2020 Answer Key?
- JEE Main 2020 official answer key will be released on April 20, 2020 (tentative) at jeemain.nic.in.
- Candidates who want to challenge the same can apply on the official website till the prescribed time period.
- Applicants have to pay challenge fee of INR 1000 per question in order to challenge JEE Main Answer Key.
- The fee will be refunded if NTA approves the challenge.
Steps to Challenge Answer Key
If any candidate wants to challenge the answer key, they can apply by the following steps given below.
- Go to the official website of JEE Main i.e. jeemain.nic.in
- Login with your roll number
- Find the link of answer key and OMR sheet
- Fill the form to challenge answer key
- Select the questions you want to challenge, make the payment through debit/credit card or e-challan.
- Verify and click on the submit button
- Take a printout of the fee receipt for its future reference.
How to Calculate JEE Main Score by Answer Key?
To calculate their expected score, candidates are required to use the answer key and check their responses to know the number of correct answers and number of incorrect answers. The below box shows the formula to calculate JEE Main score.
A = Number of correct answers x 4
B = Number of wrong answers x -1
JEE Main 2020 Overall Difficulty Level Analysis
In this analysis, we have rated every question on a scale of 1 to 3. The individual ratings are then averaged to calculate overall difficulty level.

JEE Main 2019 Sectional Analysis
JEE Main Physics
In Physics paper, overall questions were on easier side and straight forward as compared to last year. The paper was on the expected lines without any element of surprise. 6 questions were tough, 10 were easy and 14 were average. It was a well-balanced paper. CBSE covered the syllabus well.
JEE Main Chemistry
In Chemistry, question paper was balanced with equal weightage to Physical, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry. However, there was no question from topics like States of Matter, Chemistry in Everyday Life. The questions were conceptual and memory based questions were less in number. All the three sections had 10 questions each. No question was based on Metallurgy.
JEE Main Mathematics
Among all, Mathematics section was the toughest. Two-three questions were lengthy, but few questions were straightforward as well. Questions were asked from all chapters and were close to the level of JEE advanced in terms of tricks and approach. Students confined to the NCERT and related text books found it difficult. 5 questions were of JEE Advanced level, 10 questions were NCERT level, and remaining 14-15 were also good questions. It was a calculative and balanced paper.
