Candidates who qualify the JEE Main will be considered eligible for admission to B.Tech programs offered by the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), which are a group of institutions offering higher education and are funded and managed by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development. With the increasing craze of Engineering among students, IIITs have gained a huge popularity among students as they are considered the top colleges after Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institute of Technology (NITs). On cracking JEE Main 2020 candidates are required to choose from the list of 25 IIITs while filling their choices at the time of JEE Counselling. Seat allotment to IIITs will be done based on candidate’s preference, availability of seat and merit prepared based on candidate’s score in JEE Main.

The process of Seat Allotment of JEE Main commences right after the declaration of JEE Main and JEE Advanced results. The conducting bodies will then handover the result to the Seat Allocation Board or concerned State Govt. / Institute for conducting seat allocation and admission process. JEE Main 2020 Seat allotment is completely based on the merit and the choices fill by candidates in JoSAA and CSAB.

Once the allotted seat gets rejected, candidate will not be able to participate in the further rounds of counselling.

After JoSAA seat allocation, CSAB counselling will commence.
The shortlisted candidates are required to follow the below mentioned steps to participate in JEE Main 2020 Counselling:
Step 1: Apply Online

Visit the official website of JoSAA or CSAB.

Click on ‘Registration link’ and enter all the required details in the registration form.

Check all the details carefully before finally submitting the form.

Pay the requisite amount of counselling fee online using Credit/ Debit Card, Net Banking or e-challan to complete the counselling process.
Step 2: Filling of Choices

On successful payment of counselling fees, candidates have to fill their choice of colleges as per their preferences.

After filling the choices, candidates have to login to their account and make options of colleges and courses to fill the preference.

It is pretty important for applicants to note that once submitted, the choices entered will not be changed or altered in any way.
Step 3: Seat Allotment, Document Verification and Reporting

The JEE Main Seat Allotment is purely done on the basis of candidate’s merit in the JEE Main, preferences given and as per the reservation norms of the institution.

Counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds therefore, seat allotment is also counducted after every round of counselling.

Once the seat allotment is done, candidates need to report to the allotted centre for document verification and reserve a seat in the institution.

After document verification, a provisional admission letter will be issued to the shortlisted students.
