Life at NIT Rourkela is vibrant and engaging. Here's a brief overview of social life, clubs, and infrastructure. The campus fosters a lively social environment with cultural events, festivals, and interactions. Students engage in various social activities and build lasting friendships. NIT Rourkela has a range of clubs catering to diverse interests, including cultural, technical, and sports clubs. These clubs organize events and activities throughout the year.
There are so many fests and tech fests are there in every month. You can get free access to books in the library so that you can avail to them and use to freely. there are many sports facilities included in college.
At NIT Rourkela, there are three main fests where you can improve your skills in the area that interests you. Any library has books that can help you with your studies as well as books that tell stories. In college, people play a range of games.
Our annual tech fest is INNOVISISON i.e. eastern India's largest tech fest, it is conducted once a year during November. Books are available in abundance in the library. Our classes usually happen at LA( short for Lecture Avenue) ensuring that all the digital facilities are being addressed. The sports facilities are also very good in the college and the club culture is also very good. I am currently a part of Clarion, the debating society, and Monday Morning, the student media body of NIT Rourkela.
Fests conducted are like Innovison, Cosmo, nitrusav and vriddhi. all types of books are available in Biju Patnaik central library. For sports there is availability of grounds and courts. social clubs like Rotaract.
There are many clubs for students that will give them the opportunity to learn different topics and some clubs are social service. All clubs are under SAC and clubs are divided into technical, sports, cultural and literature, and film and music society.
In NITR fests are held throughout the academic year. Some of them are Nitrutsav, Innovision, vriddhi, and Cosmopolitan. INNOVISION, the flagship tech fest attracts and houses tech enthusiasts all over the nation, and it is held in the first week of November. NITRUTSUV, the official cultural fest of NITR is held in February. People from all over the state come and witness the three-day event. A wide range of literally and cultural events are organised with celebrity nights.NITR has a central library called Biju Pattnaik central library. Fully digitalized, the central library has 86k plus books on science and technology,7k plus thesis, and 8k e-journals. It's a nice play to study and it is fully air conditioned. All classrooms are fully air-conditioned and have a projector for better learning. Sac (student activity centre), where various student activities are performed, clubs are Cyborg(robotics club) and Synergy (dance club), there are a total of 90 plus clubs and societies.
Life at NITR campus is good but outside campus, there is not a lot to explore. fest like Nitrutsav, Innovision, cosmopolitan, Vriddhi and roots are held annually. vriddhi is a sports fest. cosmo is a cultural fest. NU is a fest of film and music society and inno is a technical fest. library here at NIT is pretty huge and books from all the fields are there. classrooms have AC and good benches. sports activities are really good here, however administration doesn't support sports activities because it is more of academic-focused administration but if you want to then you can play your game here. there are more than 70 registered cubs in NITR and students have the freedom to start their own club with the approval of administration and SAC officials.
Campus Life is very good for me. There are 3 annual festivals. The tech fest innovisation is the largest among them. It is conducted in November. the other festivals are Nitrutsav and cosmopolitan. Books are available in libraries.
