NIT Rourkela Courses Admission 2024: Cutoff, Eligibility, Application Process, Dates

NIT Rourkela offers a 4 years long B.Tech program in 14 different specializations of Engineering and charges a total fee of INR 8.22 Lakhs. Admissions to the B.Tech program are based on the JEE Main Exam scores followed by JOSAA counselling process. The institute also accepts Lateral entry admissions for the B.Tech program. The candidates who have successfully cleared the LEET examination are eligible for lateral entry admissions in the B.Tech program.

NIT Rourkela BTech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who wish to join the B.Tech program are required to complete their 10+2 board examination with PCM from a recognized institute.

NIT Rourkela B.Tech Selection Process

• NIT Rourkela offers admission after considering the 12th exam results, JEE Main score.
• A merit list shall be made category-wise, listing All India Rank (AIR) of candidates which is used for the Counselling process. 
• Candidates have to register for counseling online at the official JoSSA website.
• In this stage, candidates are allotted seats as per their choice and the availability of the seats in the institutes.

NIT Rourkela BTech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

NIT Rourkela JEE Main cutoff is the minimum rank to get admitted to the B.Tech program. The cutoff will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The institute offers a 2- year M.Tech program on a regular basis in Specializations . Candidates can also enrol in Dual Degree (B.Tech+M.Tech) programs which are of 5 years. Admission to this program is offered on the basis of GATE exam score. It is mandatory for the candidates to register themselves in the CCMT portal for the allotment of seats.

NIT Rourkela M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• The applicants must acquire a valid GATE score from the relevant year.
• For OC/ OBC category candidates, B.E/ B.Tech from a recognised institute or university with at least 60% or 6.5 CGPA out of 10 is mandatory to be considered for admission/ counselling process.

NIT Rourkela M.Tech Selection Process

• Candidates are selected on the basis of their GATE score 
• Once the GATE scores are released,the board conducts the counselling process for the selected candidates on the basis of their rank.
• In this stage, candidates submit their documents for verification and asked to select the institute of their choice.
• The COAP portal then sends the acceptance letter to the shortlisted candidates and offers them a seat in the institute of their choice. 
• These acceptance letters are required to report to the institute for further admission process.

NIT Rourkela offers a 2 years MBA program under 3 main specializations including Marketing, Finance, Human Resource and Operations. Admission to the MBA Program at NIT Rourkela is strictly done on the basis of CAT/MAT/XAT exam score followed by PI round conducted by the institute only. Also, the institute charges a total fee of INR 5.49 lakhs for its MBA Program.

NIT Rourkela B.Arch Selection Process

NIT Rourkela offers a two-year MA in Development Studies program at the postgraduate level. The course is offered under the Department of Humanities and Social Science as a full-time regular course. The institute offers direct admission to eligible students and charges a total fee of INR 1.80 lakhs for the programme. 

NIT Rourkela MA (Development Studies) Eligibility Criteria

• B.Tech/BA/B.Sc/B.Com degree with a minimum of 50% marks or a CGPA of 5.5.

NIT Rourkela MA (Development Studies) Selection Criteria

The selection of the candidates is strictly based on the academic merit in the qualifying degree. Candidates in the final year of their qualifying degree have to produce their final result by the given date, else their admission will be canceled.

NIT Rourkela PhD Eligibility Criteria

Minimum eligibility for Ph.D. is as follows:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology/Engineering with 60% marks
• Master’s degree in Science or equivalent with 60% marks
• Master’s degree in Arts/ Commerce or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks.

NIT Rourkela PhD Selection Process

• Admission to the Ph.D. course will be on the basis of GATE/CEED scores followed by the performance in the personal interview.
• The institute may also conduct a written test followed by an interview for admission.
• M.Tech. + Ph.D. and M.Sc.+ Ph.D. dual degree holders are also eligible to apply.
• For applicants who have a dual degree, the grade point of the last two semesters of the course will be considered.
• Applicants must also have one of the following: CSIR JRF/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR or DST INSPIRE Fellowship or a minimum of 2 years of professional work experience.
