Admission to the M.Tech course is determined solely by the GATE score, with no Group Discussion or Personal Interview required. The centralized counseling process is managed through CCMT, where candidates submit their preferences online. A special round is conducted to fill remaining vacancies, necessitating a new registration. During the course, the government offers a monthly scholarship of 12,400 INR to assist with college fees and some personal expenses. From the 3rd semester onwards, students can expect recruitment activities predominantly by software and analytics companies, although core companies like Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto, GE, and BHEL also participate.
These companies generally accept candidates with no more than a one-year education gap after B.Tech. Regular recruiters include TCS, Capgemini, EPAM, and Code Nation. The average placement package for M.Tech graduates is around 5-6 lakh INR CTC. Some students choose to pursue higher studies, enrolling in Ph.D. programs at top institutions like IITs, IISC, and universities abroad. Numerous internship opportunities are available both on and off campus. Importantly, students from all engineering disciplines are eligible for software roles, highlighting the significance of learning at least one programming language.
