  • General: 45
  • SC: 17
  • ST: 8
  • OBC: 31
  • EWS: 12

Ques. Is Delhi University BBA (FIA) better than BMS?

Ans. BMS and BBA (FIA) both are good courses offered by SSCBS, Delhi University. The subject may overlap between these two but overall BMS is a much broader course covering more subject areas like Accountancy, Management, economics, statistics, etc. Whereas BBA (FIA) is a more finance centric course. At the end of the day what matters is what you want to choose. If you have a specific interest in finance then BBA (FIA) is the better option. But if you are not so sure what you want to specialise in, then go for BMS which is more generic. Also In Delhi University, the number of seats available for BBA (FIA) is less. So a BBA (FIA) degree can be more valuable.

Ques. Is the entrance exam for Delhi University BBA (FIA) different from that of BMS?

Ans. No, Delhi University conducts a common national level entrance exam for its undergraduate courses called DU JAT (Delhi University Joint Admission Test). Admissions are given based on the marks in this exam and the plus 2 examinations.

Ques. Is it very hard to crack DU JAT for Delhi University BBA?

Ans. DU JAT is a fairly easy exam compared to other national level entrance exams in our country. You only need to study some important key aspects to score easily in the exam. Some basic tips for cracking DU JAT are listed below:

  • Most of the questions in the exam are vocabulary-based questions for eg: antonym, synonym, etc. You can easily score marks in this section by solving a minimum of 1 RC a day.
  • For quantitative aptitude questions, you need to study class 9, 10, 11 and 12th mathematics. In case you are studying in a coaching centre, following their schedule will be more than enough.
  • The section where students scored the most is the logical reasoning section. To prepare for this, solve one or two LR sets a day.
  • Don't forget to read a few newspapers so that you have a general awareness of current affairs.

Ques. Can a science stream student get admission to Delhi University BBA program?

Ans. Yes, Science students can also easily get admission for BBA (FIA) in Delhi University as all these courses are professional courses and the admission is based on entrance tests. Students just need to register for the entrance test and score good marks on it. Just make sure that you have at least 60% aggregate marks in 12th standard and has Maths and English as compulsory subjects

Ques. What is the admission procedure after the rank list is published?

Ans. The admission procedure after the rank list is published is listed below:

  • After the rank list is published the students are required to fill their college preferences which will be later allotted to them rank-wise.
  • Then submit the college preferences along with other supporting documents and 3 recent passport size photographs to the college for verification.
  • After the verification of the documents, the principal shall confirm the admission of the candidate. If results are pending, the candidate will be provided provisional admission.
  • The selected candidates will receive a fee payment link on their ID.
  • Candidates should pay the fee within 24 hours after receiving the admission approval letter.

Ques. What are some common career opportunities or employment areas for a Delhi University BBA graduate?

Ans. Some common employment areas for a BBA (FIA) graduate are Financial analyst, research analyst, Consultancy, etc. But they can shine in more financial sectors such as investment banks, hedge funds, Corporate financial management, Financial Risk Management, etc. But if you like to study more about Finance and get a better paying job, going for MBA in Finance is always recommended.

Ques. What is the application fee for applying to Delhi University BBA program?

Ans. The application fee for all UG courses while applying to Delhi University is INR 250 and the application fee when applying for the PGDCSL, is INR 2000. Students can pay this fee through various payment methods available in the online portal such as Debit card/Credit card or Net banking.
