Course Description

SPPU admission 2024 is ongoing for PG programs. The second round of admission to M.Sc Chemistry at SPPU will be conducted on July 13, 2024 at the P. C. Ray Hall, Dept. of Chemistry, SPPU from 10.00 am onwards. The last date to complete the admission process and formalities for the course is July 16, 2024. Additionally, students who want to change or reshuffle their allotted branch must apply by email to office.chem@unipune.ac.in by July 12, 2024.

The candidates interested in taking admission through Industry Sponsored quota to the Medicinal Chemistry course (Only 5 seats) must send an application by email to office.chem@unipune.ac.in by July 12, 2024 (address to Head, Department of Chemistry, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune) and must attach sponsorship letter (from chemical/pharma industry).

M.Sc. Chemistry or Master of Science in Chemistry is a postgraduate Chemistry course. Chemistry is the science of matter and the changes it undergoes. The science of matter is also addressed by physics, but while physics takes a more general and fundamental approach, chemistry is more specialized, being concerned with the composition, behavior, structure, and properties of matter, as well as the changes it undergoes during chemical reactions.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should have done B.Sc. Chemistry or B.Sc. Biochemistry with 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) from a recognized College/University.

Admission Guidelines

Admission will be through Entrance Test.
3% seats are reserved for Physically handicapped Students
5% Seats are reserved for Defence Personnel’s child/Ex-Serviceman Child.
One Migrant student from Jammu & Kashmir, per course over and above the sanctioned intake capacity will be admitted as per the merit in the entrance test.
