Must have qualified a national entrance exam.

Ph.D. in Psychology

Minimum 55% marks in any of the following –

Master’s degree in Psychology.
Master’s degrees in any of the following streams are also eligible – Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Life Sciences, Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Political Science, Social Science, Literature, Philosophy, or Law.
Candidates with BE/B Tech/MBBS/ME/M Tech are also eligible.

Ashoka University PhD Admission Guidelines 2023

All the different departments have separate admission guidelines for their Ph.D. courses. They are all listed below.

Ph.D. in Biology

For admissions to Ph.D. biology, candidates have to fill up the online application form. The applications should also include –

Research statement summarizing your academic background, research training, and how the Ph.D. degree will help you. (maximum 2 pages)
2 letters of recommendation.

Selection is based on –

Completed applications, along with qualification in the national level exam.
Preliminary and final interviews.

Ph.D. in Computer Science

The admission process includes a written test and an interview.

The written test for Ph.D. Computer Science consists of subjective, open-ended, and multiple-choice questions.
Candidates with a valid GATE score of over 700 are exempt from the written test and if selected, will be called only for the interview.

Ph.D. in English

For admissions to this course, candidates need to apply online, along with the following –

Statement of Purpose (700 words)
Research essay on an area of interest (3500 words)
2 letters of recommendation

Ph.D. in History

Interested candidates have to apply online.
They also have to email a brief research proposal of not more than 1500 words to phd.history@ashoka.edu.in
All candidates will have to sit for a written examination.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
