Every year over 8 lakh candidates apply for the exam making it difficult to obtain a rank high enough to land a seat in a good college like an IIT. Therefore, to help GATE 2023 aspirants, given below are a few tips given by previous years’ GATE toppers-
- Make yourself familiar with GATE exam pattern
- GATE is administered only once in a year. The duration of the paper is 3 hours. 65 questions are asked bearing a total of 100 marks.

- Analyze the weightage of every subject and topic through the previous year paper analysis.
- Research on previous years’ GATE question papers well. This will give you an understanding of which areas will need more of your time.
- Choose appropriate resources and books
- There are a number of resources for GATE preparation. These include online video lectures, books, mock test series, etc. It is essential that your primary resources are good enough and include all the topics from the syllabus.
- Look up the best books available for your paper. Check GATE Important Books
- You can go through your undergraduate books to establish a good foundation before you proceed to more complex topics.
