• In the General Aptitude section, there were only MCQs. 1 mark and 2 mark MCQs were equally divided.
• In Core Discipline (including Engineering Mathematics and Electrical Engineering), 
  • There were 15 MCQs carrying 1 mark and 6 MCQs carrying 2 marks.
  • There were 7 NATs carrying 1 mark and 21 NATs carrying 2 marks.
  • There were 3+3 MSQs carrying 1 mark and 2 marks respectively.

GATE 2023 Electrical Engineering Provisional Answer Key is going to be released by IIT Kanpur on February 21, 2023. Candidates who appear for Electrical Engineering can download GATE Question Paper along with the answer key through GOAPS portal on the official website- gate.iitk.ac. using email id and password after the completion of GATE 2023. GATE 2022 EE Paper Analysis

GATE 2022 EE paper was held in the Afternoon Session on February 5, 2022. Just like last year, there were no MSQs this year. GATE 2021 EE Paper Analysis

GATE 2021 EE paper was reported to be of moderate difficulty level with power system and electric circuits covering the highest weightage among all the topics. 

• There were no MSQs.
• Compared to previous year trends, the weightage to electrical machine topic was a little less.
• Apart from power system and electric circuits, other topics that had the most weightage were- Signals & Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems

GATE 2020 EE Paper Analysis

• Talking about level of questions (subject-wise), questions from Control systems, General Aptitude, Digital circuits and Power systems were generally easy with Mathematics and Analog Circuits have a moderate level of questions.
• There was extra weightage assigned to Power systems, Power Electronics and Electrical Machines.
• Paper pattern had a combination of conceptual and easy questions but some of them are lengthy specially in terms of NAT questions.
• Fill in the blanks questions are quite noticeable in recent question papers.
