GATE 2023 ECE Paper Analysis is available here. According to the initial reaction of the students, GATE 2023 ECE question paper was reported to be easy to moderate in overall difficulty. There were 45 MCQs, 16 NATs and 4 MSQs. Engineering Mathematics was one the highest-weightage subject with 15 marks in GATE 2023 ECE question paper.

GATE 2022 ECE Paper Analysis
- GATE 2022 EC Question Paper was reported to be tough in terms of overall difficulty.
- The paper was also lengthy with 14 MSQs and 18 NATs.
- The General Aptitude section was easy to moderate.

GATE 2021 ECE Paper Analysis
GATE 2021 EC paper was reported to be moderate. Questions from the new topics are easy. Just like EE paper, there were no MSQ questions in the ECE paper this year.
- ECE paper had 31 NAT and 25 MCQ. Along with this the General Aptitude section had all MCQs.
- General Aptitude section was easy in terms of difficulty while Engineering Mathematics was reported to be easy to moderate.
- Average number of good attempts- 40-45
- Expected GATE 2021 cutoff 28.8 for General category, 25.9 for SC and 19.2 for ST category.

GATE 2020 ECE Paper Analysis
- Timings:2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
- Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult
- Questions from Maths, General Aptitude, Analog Circuits and EDC were easy.
- 10 mark questions from Engineering Mathematics and Analog Circuits.
- 11 mark questions from communications.
- 20+ questions from NAT
- 12 mark questions from both Control system and electronic devices. Test takers found these questions as difficult.
- 6 mark questions from networks and signals & systems each.
General Aptitude Section
General Aptitude Section was a scoring section of the exam for the candidate. Questions of verbal ability were less time taking. The candidate who had a good level of proficiency were able to complete at least 60% of the section in very little time. One can call this section of easy to moderate level of difficulty.
Engineering Mathematics
Engineering Mathematics section was also a very well-crafted one. The questions were mostly based on simple concepts; however, they were very lengthy and time-consuming in nature. Engineering Mathematics section carried 15% weightage in the exam and can be called of moderate difficulty level, mainly due to its time-consuming nature.
Technical Section
Technical Section has always been the most important section of GATE, and one should definitely not expect it to be easy. The technical section of GATE 2020 EC exam was moderate and one definitely needed deep knowledge along with heavy practice to crack this one. A score of around 40-45 marks is definitely achievable in this section. The difficulty level of this section seemed higher than last years’ paper, and the time-consuming nature of questions also played a part in this. Take a look at the classification of topics: -
